I will be there with the PGR escorting our local Veterans from the Veterans Home to the parade and back. This will be my 4th year doing this.

I sincerely hope that the parents who have teens in the parade have taught them more respect than some of them have had the last couple of years. Last year many of the schools brought shame on themselves as well as the Veterans for encouraging the high school band/dance team members to "flaunt their wares". Young men and women working their moves as if they were at a bar when they should have been marching with their heads held high as a sign of self discipline as well as reverence for those who have died for our country. Most of the participants were great and brought a smile to my family's faces, some brought a tear to my eye. Others however caused me to turn my back on the function until they had passed.
On a side note: If you are going to run your company vehicle through the parade at least try to act like it is in support of the veterans. Riding on top of a company truck shouting “Thank you veterans” is just an obvious attempt at advertising.

It has been reported that a local business is making a major contribution to the memorial in our Veterans Park.

This is so terrific! All our veterans, who have given so much for all of us, deserve honor, respect, and rememberance.

CathyB,

This donation happened yesterday... Kratos donated $150,000 to the Huntsville Madison County Veterans Memorial Foundation, to help build Veterans Park.

Pretty cool, huh?

"Thank You" is never enough for the Veterans who have served our country. They give us the freedom to worship as we please, the freedom of speech, and knowing that when we go to bed at night that we live in the best country in the world! Thank you to all of our Veterans.

As a veteran and the father of a soldier stationed at Redstone, I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to Huntsville. Just out of Basic Training and beginning to understand the weight of the decisions he has made, my son said the outpouring of kind words, encouragement and support from the sides of the street as he marched in the parade was, well in his words, "AWESOME". So, thank you for making my son feel at home at your home. Hooah!

Daily Horoscope for December 11

Sagittarius

Moodiness is never far away today, making you over-react to problems and giving you a tendency to take out your feelings on your nearest and dearest. If someone asks you what's really wrong, you'll struggle to explain and may even have to give up because you can't put it into words. It's like an itch that you can't scratch, and you don't know where it stems from or what it means.
