My friend died in an accident like this in Madison. She was pregnant too. Drivers should be more responsible, its ridiculous.

Another red light runner probably. When in this city will they start enforcing traffic laws? Running red lights is the norm and is unacceptable.

Nobody who is commenting was there. It could have been anybody's fault. I am sure the driver of the truck feels bad about it all. Judge not, lest ye be judged!

I agree with JES...accidents happen...he may have accidently ran it...we don't know the circumstances for sure...it is very sad that 2 lives were lost and the man in the truck has a family too....They are all in my prayers...the man and the families of both parties involved.

Keara Kroelinger was a beautiful, full of life, highly intelligent person. I was so blessed to have known her, if only for a short time. Her family, fiance, and friends are in my prayers. I will miss her tremendously, but I know she's hanging out with angels right now.

I love you Keara. God bless you and your family and friends.

I am tired of people speeding down Bailey Cove. I think that we definitely need cameras on that road. If you cannot stop in time for a red light, that usually means that you are driving way too fast. I live close by and was in my backyard with my husband when we heard the loud crash. We both looked at each other in horror. I said, "I wonder if someone was speeding or ran a red light." Then I said, "If we hear ambulances real soon then we will know I am right." Well, here come the ambulances and I was pleased to hear them coming in record time. However, when I did not hear the ambulances start back up towards the hospital, I knew something was wrong. My relative is a nurse and has told me that usually means that someone has died. I would like to know if the person was on their cell phone which is a pet peeve of mine. People need to think more of other people's lives when they get behind the wheel. Like I said before, if you cannot stop at a red light, you are driving TOO FAST!

I saw the wreckage and could only imagine the injuries. I think it is very unfortunate that a person, dear to others lost her life and my prayers go out to that family. I do know that for one reason or another, we all speed and become careless at times, on the road. It is in God's hands, when we are called home. This driver surely didn't wish that on another person and will live with that for a very long time. I believe that mistakes will happen in our lives, no matter who we are and why they haunt us. Having said that, I also will pray for him as well.

I agree with CFP. The speed limit on Bailey Cove is 40 MILES, not 60 miles. Several of my classmates brag about speeding and rationalize the behavior because it is safer to drive with the flow of the traffic; however, if we all make efforts to slow down there will be fewer accidents.

I drive the speed limit because it is the law. It is put there for a reason. Probably because if it wasn't, there would be more fatalities. Take what you saw today, I was not there and don't have to be, and remember it should you ever find yourself wanting to speed. I am a Christian and just know how precious life is. That lady woke up this morning and could have been running errands. Her life was gone in a flash and she will not celebrate Thanksgiving or Christmas this year with her family and baby. My heart is saddened for her life taken so early.

Another red light runner. I see it every day, 24-7. Do we think we are so special that we do not have to slow and stop when we are supposed to? So an extra minute or two was going to be gained by the guy in the truck by not stopping, for what...? DO NOT GO THROUGH RED LIGHTS, EVER.

There were people speeding down my residential street today because the police were re-routing traffic. It was like they were inconvenienced by having to go an alternate route because of the wreck. The drivers saw all the wreckage and probably did not get were they were going in time. But this is the problem. People nowadays don't want to be inconvenienced and so they were speeding down my street and it is a residential road with children.

I just wanted to follow up to say that I am saddened by what happened today and my focus is on the young woman, her family and others who were involved in this terrible wreck. My residential street and speeders do not hold a candle to what happened today with this young lady and her baby. What I am trying to say is that the person driving the truck was wanting to get somewhere fast and did not want to inconvenience himself by driving the speed limit. He had to have known that he was driving on the fast side. Then there are others who are inconvenienced by having to go out of their way ( police re-routing them) to get wherever they were going today. They were driving fast and I was just saying to myself - These people have just come up on a wreck and why are they speeding down this road? It's like some things just don't register to people.

For all that were not there. The driver of the truck was taken to the hospital in a police vehicle for blood work. Now, we all know the only reasons that the police take blood work! I am furious! Johnny has lost his sole mate, they were planning their wedding. Johnny and his family loved Keara so much. We love you Keara, and miss you so much already. Rest in peace, we know god is with you.

Due to the construction on the Parkway, more traffic is on Bailey Cove , and something has to be done.

What can we do to Bailey Cove to ensure that it is a safer road? Does anyone have any suggestions? I would be willing to take action so that tragedies, like this one, are greatly reduced. My prayers go out to this family. I am so deeply sorry for your loss.

I pray for strength for both the families of Keara and her fiance Johnny. Keara was a smart and beautiful woman with a huge future ahead of her. Im shocked that her life has been cut so short. I wont judge the driver until all the evidence has been shown but just say that you will get what you deserve in the end im sure.

What incredibly poor writing. What does this quote mean? "She also told us that the driver of the car was a pregnant and she died in the woman's arms after the accident." I think the first "she" refers to the witness. The second "she" is not needed because we know the reporter is talking about the driver of the car because that was established 4 words earlier. I have no idea in which "woman's arms" the pregnant driver of the car died. Was the "woman" the witness, another witness or someone we are supposed to know through a mind reading exercise? Geez, hire someone that can write!
