True religion is that relationship, in accordance with reason and knowledge, which man establishes with the infinite world around him, and which binds his life to that infinity and guides his actions .. and leads to the practical rules of the law: do to others as you would have them do unto you....
Reason is the power man possesses to define his relationship to the universe. Since the relationship is the same for everyone, thus religion unites men. Union among men gives them the highest attainable well-being, on both the physical and the spiritual level.(Leo Tolstoy, Confessions, 1882)

"I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forgo their use..

I love those who can smile in trouble, who can gather strength from distress, and grow brave by reflection. 'Tis the business of little minds to shrink, but they whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves their conduct, will pursue their principles unto death...

As far a the video I do feel sorry for the one kicked off their property. The seventh day advantist thinks its for a greedy reason because of some future developement by the county and possibly so.
At some point in time we should as humans evolve were we have a one world society and be able to get along with one another. Some would like it to be a theocratic one ruled with a iron fist. As for now I don't think that going to happen in the next 4 years.
I think you may be paraniod about being move off your property. Having a monetary and emotional attachment to your land and believing the way you do I can understand it.
I think you should write your congressman to have this brought up in a presidential debate. Send Romney a message to bring this up in a presidential debate.
And there in the problem of reality and fantasy comes into play... Humans will never, can never be made perfect... We will never evolve to the point that a large number of people will abuse any power given to them for self aggrandizement and personal gain, And you will always have large numbers of those that will not produce and pay their fair share...

The idealogical feel good fantasy of everybody singing KumBaYah around the camp fire and always doing the right thing for the good of the whole is faced with appointing some authority to make sure those that do not follow the rules are Re-Educated... Then Reality kicks in and you find those given such authority never wish to give it up and use such power to fill mass graves with those that decide they don't like to dig the ditch or get off the couch...

As I have said before, The Ideas of Socialism and One World Commune sounds good... Reality is it requires All Men be made perfect or it falls to dictatorial or totalitarian control of the masses... It Always will become an Orwellian world with murder and subjugation as policy of the elite....

I'm talking about 1000 years in the future. Where space travel is common and other planets are found to inhabit. Right now that seem impossible, but who knows for sure if ever.

Religion wants socialism type government lead by religious leaders. Mormons beliefs predict such a government soon. Yaa and others predict the same. We know Islam wants that also.

Hitler believed in a german theocracy.

I tend to the view that a 1000 years into the future there will still be those that put self interest above the common good and some that will form mass grave on the Moon and Mars just as quickly as Cambodia and Iraq.... Star Trek is Fantasy.... And if all it's technological advancement were to occur I say the Federation would be controlled by a few that will Live Long and Prosper with the Most doing their bidding under fear of being tossed out the airlock.......

Hitler was brought to power through Socialism
First German Reich had been the Holy Roman Empire which was largely German.

The second Reich had been the German Empire which was established when Prussia brought all the other German principalities under her sway in the 19th century. It was abolished in favor of a republic after the First World War.

When Hitler put an end to that republic, he felt he was returning Germany to the imperial position which was hers by right, hence it was the third Reich.

There is nothing wrong with teaching The Bible in schools, so far as it is presented as a historical book, and the instructor leaves their personal religious bias at the door. The teacher can also say, "some folks say, or some believe that.." just to educate the kids.

If kids don't learn history today, including Biblical history, they will be doomed to repeat the mistakes of our forefathers... and they won't learn what works.. things like respect, discipline. News Flash.. many of these things are in the Bible! Go figure!

I'm fully aware of that... But the population allowing power to be held by an authoritarian government during the Wiemar Republic was the Socialist movement that called for greater Union participation, Socialized medicine, and assorted Social Programs that was fed to the public under the guise of National Socialism.. Which is basically Fascism allowing him the power to quickly become a totalitarian ruler.. But make no Mistake, He was a Socialist..

Gregor Strasser, National Socialist theologian, said:

We National Socialists are enemies, deadly enemies, of the present capitalist system with its exploitation of the economically weak … and we are resolved under all circumstances to destroy this system.

Von Mises in his Human Action said:

There are two patterns for the realization of socialism. The first pattern (we may call it the Lenin or Russian pattern).... the second pattern (we may call it the Hindenburg or German Pattern) nominally and seemingly preserves private ownership of the means of production and keeps the appearance of ordinary markets, prices, wages, and interest rates. There are, however, no longer entrepreneurs, but only shop managers … bound to obey unconditionally the orders issued by government.

In Hitlers own Words....

"We are socialists, we are enemies of today's capitalistic economic system for the exploitation of the economically weak, with its unfair salaries, with its unseemly evaluation of a human being according to wealth and property instead of responsibility and performance, and we are all determined to destroy this system under all conditions." --Adolf Hitler

So you think somehow Obama could be declared as a dictator of america. I see that has no chance. Now could a Democrate win again and again possibly. How can U.S. be like germany? Are we trying conqure the world, well we do seem to be policeman of the world.

I guess it is possible that some suits could come to your door and say submit to the supreme leader or die. Not saying it could not happen but sure there would be civil war here.

I think the republicans would like to be dictators with all that God stuff and showing off those shiny crosses around their necks.

I think YAA would be ok with a relgious republican supreme
dictator to start the thousand year reign of Jesus.

Manipuate the tax code?

By Kim Dixon, Reuters

WASHINGTON — Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney and his wife, Ann, gave about 30 percent of their $13.7 million in 2011 income to charity, but did not take the full write-off, making their effective tax rate higher.

The move, which was contained in Romney's 2011 tax return released on Friday, was described by tax experts as unusual and by the top Senate Democrat as manipulation of the tax code.

"I was in private practice for 40 years and don't know that I ever had a client who said,'I don't want to take all my deductions,'" said David Kautter of American University's Kogod Tax Center, who spent his career at accounting giant Ernst & Young.

Kautter estimated that if Romney had taken the full charitable tax break, his effective tax rate would have been about 10.5 percent. The return showed Romney paid an effective rate of 14.1 percent last year.

During a Republican presidential debate in January, Romney said, "I don't think you want someone as the candidate for president who pays more taxes than he owes."

Yet Romney did just that.

Daily Horoscope for May 22

Gemini

Beware wishful thinking because it will cloud your thoughts and lead to confusion. However, that's much easier said than done, because today you're showing distinct tendencies towards living in a rosy world of your own and ignoring any hard facts that are under your nose. Take care that you don't allow someone to dupe you simply because you aren't paying attention to what they're saying or doing.
