I wanted to go to lunch today at the Mexican place beside of subway in Prestonsburg, I could not get in any of the parking lots to even park for the people at the pain clinic. I cannot believe that Unite has let this come in town.

I agree we have enough of our people getting this dope without bringing it into our town. I came by there and was amazed at the people that I knew just standing out in the parking lot like it was nothing to be there. Prestonsburg has made it too easy to be able for the dealers to get their hands on this dope. Wonder how much they paid the poor soles to go this for them? Probably not enough. I know of about 10 dealers that need to go down to the other end of the state for about a 10 years visit.

i have never seen a line that long at a normal doctors office, and people are in then out in about 10 min. just sit in the parking lot and watch.i think this town has enough problems with adding this place to it

I agree with you; I think we have just begun to see problems that we have never seen in Prestonsburg before. Unite should step in and stop this now.......

there has been a pain clinic at the rt80 us23 overpass at watergap for years.. Plus those dopers will go anywere to get em. either way there still goign to be in your town. All you need is a MRI and you get all the pills yu can take and sell. Everyone knows it but does nothing. Or are we to believe that young people and everyone else jsut started needing pain pills over teh last 13 years. lol its a freakin shame. But try puttin in a restaurant that sells beer. Or a Hooters, which bythe way the women there wear more clothes than half the people i see walkin aroudn these days. ALL HAIL THE MIGHTY PILL MACHINE!!!! For it is our state resource..Not tobacco, not horses, not anything else...

actually its what like 125 a visit and they flip the pills for 7-8 apiece. Then take 2-3 the day before there visit so they can pass the drug test. Its not a clinic its a job. Yeah people need all those pills like we need a earthquake, most of them dont know what pain is. i remember when they used to slowly raise your tolerance, now a 20 year old boy who "has a bad back" goes in gets 120 loracet 10, 90 Zanax, and some klonipin to help them sleep. Unite should stop all the pain clinics, or at least hold them liable as an accesory if any of there patients get caught sellin.

your absolutly right there. Some people do need the medicine and the hater that b*tch and cry saying united needs to come in is what makes it hard on the doctor to prescribe anything. Thats why half of eastern KY go to Florida to get meds. There are dealer and there alway will be everywhere but the ones that do need it shouldn't have to drive threw 4 states to get relief. I'd rather see dealer with lorcets than these roxy 30 for people to shoot in there arm. As long as the doc is doing her job right, leave them the hell alone.

except most of them go to florida and here. Plus they dont need em. Its all in there head mostly. I had a injured neck, broke knee, and broke countless ribs. I took tylenol and aleve. Buck up its your addiction making your body think it wants pills. If you wan tto see the trash of society go to any pain clinic/legal pill dealer. I know I have lost countless people that i know to these places. I can guarantee people with real pain go to a real doctor, and try to get real help. Not a technically legal pill dealer.

THe SSI and Min wage workers are her clients stupid. I mean really why thrive to be a pill dealer. Whether the intentions are good or not, its a highly abused easy money scam. That is destroying the region.

yes they are nothing but a pill outlet for people who really dont need the pills or for that matter have nothing wrong with them. if there is truly something wrong any family dr will treat you and give you what you need. i think they went to school to help people thats what they should do rather than getting rich off of these uneducated low income people just to make a buck. all these pain clinics should be outlawed in this state as well as all the other ones.

o.k. lets see here,Florida drugs, sure you can go there to get them, but find a place in Ky to fill them. You can't. So that stopped that. And as for this wonderful new pain dr.,look at her title...you may be surprised. As for 95% of these people...not a darn thing wrong with them. You tell me why a very young person would need all of these drugs to get them through when they've barely just graduated high school and played football the entire time or cheered the entire time....there is no excuse. I have no respect for these people and never will and I know that they don't care...but that's o.k. because I don't care about them. And what is even a bigger shame is parents will take their children in to see these types of dr.'s just to get their pills and that's a know fact. I saw and heard it myself at Subway the other day. A "mother" was coaching her child in what to say to get what she "needed". That's horrible but nothing will ever be done. Around here, when I was in school,my parents taught me the value of an honest days work and the importance of school and earning my keep. But that was years ago,now parents teach their children to either fake pain or over react to what little bit of growing pains they have to get pills and live off the government. Yeah,no wonder Eastern Kentucky is on 20/20,Dateline and all that other stuff. It's completely disgusting, but what's even more sad is that even though 20/20 doesn't show the hard working people of Eastern Kentucky, the trash they do show is true. And that's all these pill heads are, nothing but trash!!!!!

I totally agree. i went in to get my daughter some Poison ivy soap this summer and there was a whole family, 6-8 people at the pharmacy at the same time filling prescriptions. But as for Florida drugs, sometimes they actually ship the drugs, or they shio them to a Ohio or Wv mailbox. but it is out of hand... If you want to help people open up a practice not a pill handout facility. You obviously have enough to start a practice, why not a more respectable one. Also i know my grandmothers doctor moved and she couldnt go to a "painclinic" because her insurance wouldnt cover it and they didnt accept it. They only take cash.. Funny if its so legit why not accept insurance. Lucky for her she found a real doctor and he helped her with her cancer. yes pain clinic refuse a woman wo ended up dying a month later.

I know about the family thing. I saw a family including teenage children get their pills with a state medical card. They have to pay cash at these clinics but they can pick up the pills with state cards!!!! Nice to know that's where my money is going....

I agree, pills have been a plague on our society. You can look through the obits in the local newspapers and see the pictures of young people who have od'ed. Usually, the photo will be one where they were _ucked up, what a shame. We all have family or friends that fought this battle and lost. I would say "the man who never sleeps" is indirectly responsible for taking more lives in Eastern Kentucky than what the coal mines have. And as long as our government continues to allow this to happen, we'll never win this war.
