Like victims of a Ponzi scheme, the Yates Center News staff and boosters of a for-profit prison in Woodson County refuse to consider the unarguable facts: Yates Center could not support a prison of any sort, and even if it could, it would not help the local economy. Readers should demand that their newspaper present both sides of this debate, instead of being in the thrall of Senator Derek Schmidt and his GEO Group contributors. "Sunflower Solutions" is being taken for a ride by bait and switch artists.

You are absolutely right on that issue. It is sickening to evolve economic development perpetuated by intentional human suffering. It would not help the local economy or community. Obviously those people have not worked with or tried to rehabilitate chronic drug addicts. Do you honestly think that Yates Center is prepared to deal with young mothers that will sell their unborn babies for meth? Prisons will not help ...
Try a 30-bed for-profit drug rehab center in the closed portion of the Yates Center retirement center on YC Resevoir Road. The center would focus on nutrition-based rehab [not commercial drug rehab] with testimonials and public education.
The lost potential due to drug addiction at any age is a terrible loss of human potential. Are some in YC addicted to the proposed drug prison? Being adaptable is the sign of a healthy person and community. Thank you to The Feed Bunk. The new canopy looks wonderful! YC needs more of this type of restoration and local jobs ...

Eileen you have the right to freedom of speech but you are so wrong. It is embarrassing to most of us in the center when people outside the community ask about you. You are a detriment to any hope of economic development in Yates Center. You don't know when to call it a day and leave well enough alone. Please join Mr. Smith in his crusade to fight PRIVATE prisons across the USA. Ours was and will be in the future a Minimum Security Drug Rehabilitation Facility. That is when and if the state ever has money again.

Go Away Eileen...no one hears you.

Daily Horoscope for December 4

Libra

You're at your most idealistic and romantic today, which is saying something. You have no desire to come into contact with brutal reality unless you have absolutely no choice in the matter. Instead, you want to float away into a world of your own, preferably accompanied by someone utterly wonderful. However, don't fall into the trap of kidding yourself about something or someone, especially if you know full well that this will break your heart further down the line.
