You're great Alex, but you forgot to mention her repeated "palinisms" (a la Sarah Palin) e.g. use of the term "verbage" - a non-existent word. So much for modern, up-to-date education I'd say.[Google the Palin-verbage reference if your curiosity gets the better of you - lol]
Try spelling it correctly "verbiage-the style of language in which something is expressed". Also while you are being so smart, there is not such word as "til", its "until".

I think that would be "No, she's smug, dogmatic, uncivil, and highly defensive." Take out the she and that quote sounds just like you. Someone as educated as you say you are wouldn't forget the punctuation.

You obviously don't believe that young people cannot be smart and professional. It says alot about your expectations regarding yourself and your children, if you have any. God forbid that you tell them that they cannot achieve expertise at an early age. She seems to handling herself with great calmness professinalism while some jackass of a defense attorney is trying to justify a liar and murderer killing someone. The best witness so far. You seem to have some compassion for the murdering little skank that has no regard for life or the truth.
Like many other responders on this thread, you take the view that because I'm not OVERWHELMED by your worthy doctor, it must be because of her youth. By that logic, I expect next to hear it's because of her ethnicity, whatever that may be. Look, this lady doesn't seem to have even the most elementary MANNERS - witness the very audible, respectful and cheery greeting she received from Ms. Wilmott at the start of each day's testimony, to which I'm yet to notice an audible response. There is such a thing as UPBRINGING and BREEDING, and it's a fairly good indicator of real professionalism. Apparently all her years of academic exposure has not been enough to breed good manners into this individual. You know what they say, you can take someone out of the g ..., oh well you know the rest.

I think Dr. Marte is very competitive with other women, and is willing to "interpret" symptoms as a borderline personality disorder instead of PTSD in order to try to harm another female. I've met other female doctors like Dr. Marte.
Hmm! You could be on to something. Perhaps you should elaborate further

I'm sure you will never be asked too. Forensics is a part of Psychology that is needed. I guess she could sit in a room and listen to people whine that their life is crap because their parents didn't get them a swingset when they were kids. Of course then send them a bill for it.
While I disagree with your specific knock on Jennifer, I find your characterization of psychotherapy quite amusing. Just thought I'd let you know

Get a grip, Dave. She's got more class, insight, and maturity than you could EVER appreciate. You're one of those people that could never take anyone seriously under 40, and you better be prepared to have your ass handed to you by an upcoming younger generation that makes mine look like troglodytes. My daughter is on the fast track to becoming exactly what Dr. Demarte is, and her peers are smart, innovative, and just plain fast. Experience (and I hate to admit this) is sometimes over-rated and you better get out of these kids way. We can watch from the curb, and I'm happy to do just that.
There you go again, Seasoned, with this age thing. Why don't you bring up the ethnic thing then, seeing as she isn't white? On a personal note, I feel sorry for your daughter if she is on a similar trajectory of glib phoniness.
People like you will be in for quite a shock when they find the younger generation who will come to rule might be just as conservative as their forerunners. People like your dear doctor will be quickly exposed for the sham and fraud that they are. As the biblical saying goes, "By their fruit ye shall know them"

That wasn't a knock on Jennifer, it was just my opinion. The truth is Psychology and Forensic Psychology are really two different things. I know that you understand that. Jennifer was making fun of people who do forensics, thought I would bring it back to her.

Wait a second Dave, as I recall you are the one that started the name calling. Go back and read your first post.
I gave a clinical description of her clinical qualification to expound on the complexities of human motivation and behavior without recourse to subterfuges like the DSM and assorted psychological tests of doubtful reliability. We may as well rely on the real Bible with its various prohibitions encoded in the Ten Commandments. There is no real science to rely on at this point in time although there soon might be. A "professional" who expounds with the dogmatic certainty of Ms. Demarte marks herself as an amateur, imo. Also you will notice that none of my remarks was directed to any individual posters.

Now now, LA, let's not get TOO personal, OK? It's her clinical acumen and relevant personality characteristics that should be our focus and nothing else.

I'll never forget De. DeMarte frustrating Lawyer Barbie JW getting so frustrated that she murmured
"b * t c h" under her breath because she had to flip through papers. Were the blisters on her heels hurting from all the walks of shame up to see the judge? Was her spanx pinching her? Has she finally gotten tired of Jodi incessantly whispering in her ear and writing her notes?
She never was able to rope Dr. DeMarte into responding in anger. Is Dr. DeMarte through testifying?
It would be funny if the defense got caught for having someone break in and taking the laptop. It seems suspect. Was anything else taken from her home? It's a beautiful home. Is JW jealous?
"She never was able to rope Dr. DeMarte into responding in anger."
So true, but could this be because she was angry all the time? I would say that a person who REPEATEDLY fails to respond audibly to an audible, polite and cheerful greeting is extremely chronically angry and should fit comfortably into the Procrustean bed of Borderline Personality Disorder that she fashioned for Jodi. It could be a manifestation of the clinical condition known as projection, which, in laymen's terms, translates into "it takes one to know one".

Dave, "wilted like lettuce", "withering cross"? Clearing you were not watching the same trial as was broadcast here in the States. Wilmot is sophomoric. Her giggles, eye rolling, and note passing with her murdering client are at best, unprofessional. Further, it's difficult to take her seriously. Finally, it appears that you may know this woman as you refer to her as "Jen"... Hmmm
Hey, Jules ole buddy, thanks for letting me back into the country so soon after unceremoniously booting me out. If you must know I LIKE "Jen" - a lot, but not remotely in the way you prob'ly fancy. I like her consummate professionalism, unlike her coarse, crude opponent who has absolutely NO CLASS. Case in point : she never once attempted tu impugn Demarte's integrity by accusing her of bias even though this was plain for all to see, all that is, who were willing to look. Your hero Juan Valdez, er, Martinez, felt comfortable diving into the gutter, no doubt whence he originated.

People, people, let us not forget what this is all about. A young man was slaughtered like an animal and so many people wonder and worry about every thing but that. Don't you MEN understand what Jodi's defense means. It's ok to kill a man if he does not want to marry you. A woman can just say "he abused" me. It is not right to accuse someone of something that you cannot prove. It does not have to be proven she killed Travis, she said she did it !

She'll still have to get Laviolette to spout all that mumbo-jumbo Rita, and that's not a sure thing by any stretch.
