Finding another Doctor

Prescott, AZ

This newby is a joke. He actually attributed my severe hand and joint pain to possible depression. The only recommendation was to use a hot wax machine and soak my hands. Apparently, if you do not show that RA factor in your blood work, he doesn't know what to do. He didn't even factor in the previous hand trama I sustained in a automobile accident. My first visit was a two hour wait and then I had to leave before I even saw him. The next visit was an unsympathetic and uninforming visit. He explained nothing. He was not even addressing the burning hot pain in my hands. He basically dismissed me. If you look at his staff you can see that WOMEN BEWARE. I doesn't like women and treats them in a derrogatory manner. No wonder he takes his payment upfront before you ever see him. It's worth the drive down south to see different doctor.

After reading the review of "Finding another Doctor." I was apprehensive to follow through with my appointment set up as a referral by my primary doctor. Cherly called me to set up an appointment and was very friendly and gave me directions.(WRITE THEM DOWN, because it is a nightmare to find offices in the crossroads complex.)
I had my first appointment yesterday and I was very impressed with Cheryl as my profile was set up and the nurse Denise,as she reviewed my profile and gathered information. I found the office to be a very friendly relaxed atmosphere. My wait time to see the doctor was about 20 minutes. I found Dr. Lawlor to be very professional and friendly and through, he asked many questions took the time to listen as I explain all my issues. Please do not discount Dr Lawlor and his staff. Judge for yourself.

Dr Lawlor was great! He took his time and explained things that I never could understand. I am very happy with my decision to see him. I could tell he was very knowledgable and overall a very kind individual. The staff was polite and helpful.

I completely agree with this evaluation! Dr. Lawlor is a joke and only sees patients as dollar signs. After 1 year he has done absolutely nothing to help me. He actually told me at my last appointment (after 10 minutes) that he had to go because he had other patients waiting! He tried to use the "your depressed" reason with me too! Just because you can't see pain doesn't mean it doesn't exist or that you are mentally impaired! DON'T BECOME HIS PATIENT, unless you like being looked down upon, wasting your time and money, and feeling worse then when you came!!!

Dr. Lawlor is an extremely competent and professional rheumatologist. After years of pain and misdiagnosis, he has successfully treated my RA to the point where my blood tests are normal, my joints are normal. It is a miracle.
One time, I did not take a medication he prescribed and I said, "I hope you are not mad at me." He said, "I would never get mad at a patient for that. It is your body." An extremely respectful attitude which I appreciate.

My first visit to Dr. Lawlor was in December, 2011.
The front office staff was friendly and efficient. My wait time to see Dr. Lawlor was brief and this was refreshing. Upon meeting Dr. Lawlor, the discussion of my symptoms was extensive. He recommended a treatment explaining the necessity of consistency in taking the medications and lab work as recommended. The results are great! He is a competent rheumatologist. Look no further.

I too was a little apprehensive after reading some of the comments about Dr Lawlor. I decided to go ahead and see him because my primary care Dr highly recommended him. I am so glad I did! Dr. Lawlor is a great doctor who is very knowledgeable and took a lot of time with me. I do have a lot of issues and he was very patient and took time to explain. Highly recommend if you need a Rheumatologist!
