IMO, this is crazy. An FBI agent faces 60 years in prison for having a secret affair with the wife of another man.(King David in the bible did the very same thing with Bathsheba, only much worse, by killing her husband, and David has been praised through history as a "man of God".) The FBI agent didn't harm or kill anyone. The most he should get is five years probation and removal from the FBI.
Meanwhile, not one AIG executive at the top has been brought up on charges, although they've ripped off US taxpayers for more than $170 BILLION dollars by gambling with the "time bomb" "financial weapons of mass destruction" (Warren Buffet's terms) derivatives markets! Given the choice, I'd rather save prison spaces for violent offenders. The AIG execs should serve a few years time, lose all their property, pay restitution, and be banned from all financial firms.
