I disagree with no one having answers about saving money. I remember one board member that had the figures of what it cost to run each school and how it would save over a million dollars to consoiidate just two schools. they said that it would be continued savings every year. One million dollars per year, thats a pretty good start. The problem is now we have the 1st,2nd and 3rd board members not wanting to do anything "just leave it alone" and it will be alright. Bull S#@#. Its time for those board members to wake up and smell the coffee.... Its just a matter of time and the state will come knocking at the school districts door. I wish we had a repeal law in this state so we could get new board members in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd district so we can move foward in this county.

If you just look at utilities reducing two locations to one would be a significant savings.

Quite frankly, if you don't have a child in a Prentiss County school, then you really shouldn't have a say or vote in anything to do with the schools. That would be like me or anyone else that doesn't work at or have anything to do with someone else's place of employment, we don't have a say in how things are done for that place of employment, or like someone not on Social Security telling the Social Security Department or whoever that if they would cut those checks a little shorter each month then old folks wouldn't be able to be on the road so much and mayne insurance wouldn't be so high and that there would be less accidents with the older folks off the road. MY POINT BEING, " IF YOU DON'T HAVE A DOG IN THE RACE, THEN STAY OUT OF IT!"
Well, I don't have a dog in the race except for the tax dollars the county sticks its hands out for every year. If we who do not have children in school should keep out of the race, then maybe we should not be included in the school taxes. Wonder how long the schools would stand if we didn't fund them with our taxes?

You are spot on!!
There are more people paying taxes without children in school than with children in schools!
Even families in the Annexed Area of Booneville who send their children to Booneville, still send their School Tax to Prentiss County!!!

As long as taxpayers are paying the bills I have to disagree with you about "Unless you have a child in Prentiss County Schools you Shouldn't have a say so or vote". I would guess that most of our taxpayers don't have children in the school district. What if tax payer only wanted to pay school taxes if they had children in school? Where would our schools be? I believe this is Prentiss County's biggest problem, "They only want a select few to have a say so, they have forgotten that America is suppose to be ruled by the majority, not the minority." I for one am tired of the minority running Prentiss County and this isn't just the school district. "WE THE PEOPLE, NOT, WE, THE FEW PEOPLE" Broke in more than a financial situation! Let the majority of the citizens rule Prentiss County again.

I think it's time for the majority of us to unite and let the Prentiss County Board realize that they took an oath of office! I think it's another law suit waiting to happen. Smart Asses are known for saying "Get in line with all the others wanting to sue us!" They need to put education first.
