no way should this guy run a dealership. i think the guy at fletcher found out what happens when you get on here and run down your customers or in this case try and cover up a scam. this guy shoud be terminated and if mr cavanaugh does the right thing by his customers he will fire him soon. there are honest people out there in the car business and evidently this guy and this dealership isnt one of them

I know a lady in her 80's who went there to buy a ford because that is all she has ever owned. She had no one with her and guess what she left with a 2013 mustang. Totally loaded. White with black leather. Next day she had to return it because she couldn't drive it. So she comes back with a ford fusion. They had her pay more money. Totally took advantage of an elderly lady that didn't know any better. All I can say is what goes around comes around. They should be ashamed.

Bottom line is the bottom line. We try to advertise as honestly as we possible. Surley your so naive to think we are not going to make money on you. That's how we stay in business.
I shouldn't have even responded on here. The only reason I came on here was because I was told about this thread. I think most people that read this garbage like drama. I have way more important this to do than to play these childish games. Good Day.
I think everyone can agree that car dealerships are in the business to make money. That wouldn't be the issue. The issue would be, there was a car you advertised at a price that was obviously making some money or you wouldn't have advertised it at that price. You then manipulated the public into thinking you were having a sale, but you were not. You raised the price of the cars to cover your sale trade in amounts so in fact, you were not offering a sale. What you were doing was committing blatant fraud to manipulate people out of their trade in's so that you could then sell those cars at a greatly increased price at Car Today, which you also own.

At $10,000.00 you were making money and comfortable enough to advertise the car at that price. Then you offered a fraud/sale and raised the price over $3000.00. You then got the original full asking price for the car and took their trade in for free which was even more, pure profit. Then you turn around, recondition that car you received for free and sell it at your Car Today, buy here pay here location where I'm sure you received a couple grand $$ up front to finance it to someone with bad credit. There is a couple more thousand dollars. Then, they make high interest payments to Cavenaugh / Car Today and there's a large monthly profit on a car that is in NO WAY worth what the poor dumb bastard is paying for it. Most of you probably don't know that do you? Cavenaugh Hyundai reconditions all the cars people get reamed out of through scams like this and then they go to Car Today which they own. If you buy a car from Car Today, it's because it's not worthy of being on any other Cavenaugh dealer lot and you should be thinking twice about it.

Greed. That's what this boils down to. Greed. Not a matter of making a profit because that's why your in business but, greed. You got caught at it and you got called out on it and you then decided to get on here and blow smoke like a child throwing a tantrum that can't admit he's the one that broke the cookie jar.

I personally have enjoyed this post because above all else, it showed me the frame of mind and business practices of a "Hometown dealer" that truly doesn't care about the people of their town.

He sure seem to know the specifics of what happen to the car. I guess it wouldn't be too hard for Don to look and see if that was what happen to that car. I really think Aaron is just that full of himself. If you ever talk to him you would understand what a dumbass he is.

ALL car dealers do this! They all treat you like royalty until the sale is made then they forget you. I have bought a couple of vehicles from Cavenaugh though, and I would still go back there and buy another one. You have to realize that ALL dealers do that though before you walk in. You have to be a heads up shopper and dont fall for any of thier tricks. They ALL say that they dont or wont pay saletax, or better yet say they will pay sales tax and then try to sneak it in on your sales price. You have to watch out for this when you are haggling with them. Tell them to show you all the numbers. I bought a Suzuki from Cavenaugh when they had their Suzuki dealership. When they dealership closed, I called and actually talked to Mr. Cavenaugh about my worries and not wanting to travel to Memphis to get my vehicle worked on. I had bought the flip insurance so if my vehicle was totaled, I would get full pay off for it. I complained to Mr. Cavenaugh of them not standing by the vehicles they sold. Mr. Cavenaugh sent me a check for the full purchase price of the insurance I had bought from them, even though we had the vehicle for 3 years. I was surprised to say the least and since have bought 2 more vehicles from them. The only car dealers around here I would buy from is Cavenaugh or Nebo autosales. Other than those two go to Memphis. Like I said you have to watch out and be aware of the numbers and dont let them slick talk you. ALL dealers do that though.
I live in Jonesboro and for the last 4 trucks i have gone to the ford dealership in newport.. Harris.. they treated me great both in and out of the sale. just sayin they are not all alike. thats my opinion

What part of Cavenaugh do you work for? Your wording and defensive posturing says to me, you work for them and your deflecting the issue with speculation.

You can post a reply but yet you never answered the question. Feel free to continue avoidance as it shows further evidence that your somehow connected with Cavenaugh or are in my suspicion, the man that they are talking about and your trying to divert thinking away from your insecurities and dishonorable and arrogant actions.

Feel free, re post and yet again avoid the question. Or better yet, just knowingly lie and tell us your not connected to them and your just so good and full of honor that you felt a desire to defend a person and company your not connected with. It will give us a false sense of security knowing someone so selfless and honorable still exists.

Hard to believe that I'm the only person who has ever had a good experience with this company. I bought a new Santa Fe from them a few years ago. The salesman was patient and helpful even though the transaction went well past closing time and the customer service after the purchase has been outstanding.
