<quoted text>. Why would you have a doggie door with a small child in the house and why would a pool be uncovered in January? Sounds like child neglect.
Rental house. Busy landlord.

This was a horrible thing for anyone to experience I can not even imagine. Please notice the other things people posted were listed MUCH earlier-more than a year in most instances. This was long before the terrible tragedy. The posters were not trying to pour salt in the gaping wound in their hearts.

It wasn't the "doggie door", it was the door they use to let the dogs out. Apparently it was unlocked and she got out.

All of you should shut your mouths and get something better to do than talk about people behind their backs. Everyone has their own problems even attorneys like Brent. He's a great guy and had a terrible assistant. He also had things happening personally that NONE of you know about and not one person here can disagree that we all have things in our lives that sometimes business is just not as important.
You should all really be ashamed of yourselves for judging others.
His little girl died last night and do you really think he cares about your problems? NO. Assholes.
Good job letting the world know. Idk why you brought this topic back to the stinking top.

I have worked with his assistant. I promise you it was her fault. I have been a paralegal for serveral years. You job is to inform him of all pleadings and deadlines/court dates etc. If she was getting them and putting them aside and not advise him of this then he is not blame. The only thing he is to blame for is not firing his assitant to hire another. She's terrible and a pill head. Don't blame him. I can personally tell you that it was his assistant. She gets the mail in and doesn't turn over to attorney, puts in a file and hides it because she is to lazy to take to attorney. She speaks with clients and lies to them and doesn't give the phone messages to her attorney.
Did he hire the assistant? Case closed.

Then why did the mother say that the door wasn't secured when the dogs were let back in? I'm only going off what she stated. And I never said anything about child negligence so you can direct that comment at someone else.

Well u see I'm not up at the break of dawn running to get the paper to see who that day we can blame for something.... The initial time they was asking her questions was at the same time the baby was trying to be revived. If u feel that u would be thinking clearly during that time I commend you because u must not be a loving mother... She was not stable enough or in her right mind for anyone to be questioning her about things like that!!! So goes to show that indeed to they come at her weakest time to make her look worse. Well just let me tell u this!! She is a very close member of my family and I know the true facts as once everything calmed down ( the best it could) they did think about what may of happened and it was not negligent , child endangerment, or anything else other than an ACCIDENT.. Wishing we could stop them an to a sense u can help prevent things to happen. But All in all it don't matter if you have a fence that holds a fence and a door with 15 locks. When its time to go its gonna happen!!! And I did hear Personally out the mouth of the mother tonight during viewing that she knows god needed her back and she was just being her mommy while she could!!!!! That's sad guys!!!! So think long and hard before you decide to cast a stone. U may be hitting the wrong wall and eventually walls gonna break and come back right on all the people who get nothing but a blow in the panties to bash people, family's with death , loss and so much more'!!!!

Well then maybe you should call the Jonesboro Sun and tell them what you know. Obviously they should interview you instead of a grieving mother. I'll leave you to name-call some more, since you obviously can't post without doing so. Have a nice day.

I know of alot of people that do not have covers on pools. We could go on and on about things that people do and don't do but when it comes down to it The Lord chose this beautiful baby to join him in heaven. You can't put blame on swimming pool covers or unsecured doors or anything else for that matter. This mother will have to question things for the rest of her life. It was an accident and yes probably could of been prevented but I know this family and this mother was a great mom. She had child locks on every cabinet, double and triple locks on the doors, the electrical outlets plugged with stoppers. This was an accident and that's all you can say about it. Whether she climbed through doggie door or one of the other children left the door open It doesn't matter. What matters is a mom lost her baby. She doesn't get another day to hold her or kiss her. She only gets to hold the memories of the short time she had with her. And I feel that if The Lord chose this baby to be one of his angels a pool cover or door locks wouldn't of made the difference. It was his calling. May The Lord be with this family through the upcoming weeks, months, years as they mourn the loss of a precious life. He gave her to this family to love her and cherish her for him and that is exactly what they did. Rip baby.... Heaven just gained an angel that meant the world to alot of people. May she fly high and have fun in heaven playing, living, and loving all her family that is there with her...

Careful what you say, Karma could come for you and your loved ones. My little one has had many many little accidents growing up from skinning his knee or falling down because I wasn't close enough to catch him. Hard to believe since i hover over him all the time. As much as we try as parents, the truth is, we can't hover over our children every second of the day even though we all try our best. Anything could happen in a glimpse of an eye. Instead of judging, we should be ever so thankful and feel blessed that we have our children and they remain safe because a tragedy like this can strike anyone at anytime no matter how precatious you think you're being. We should have heavy hearts for this family as they lost a child.
