nTelos Wireless, a Virginia-based provider of high-speed, dependable nationwide coverage for less, has donated $1,500 to Noahs Children.
The funds were donated via the companys nTelos Cares program, which uses partnerships with local bloggers, or online influencers, to benefit local nonprofits through social media sharing.
We are thankful that nTelos Wireless reached out to RichmondMom.com and we were able to partner with them on this innovative promotion, said Bob Archuleta, MD, FAAP, FAAHPM, Founder & Medical Director of Noahs Children. Its because of local companies and activities like this that we are able to year-after-year engage new supporters and expand our services to patients and families in need.
Noahs Children is Central Virginias only pediatric palliative care and hospice program serving infants, children and adolescents with serious illnesses and support their families.
We thought using Facebook, Twitter and our blog to increase awareness for three of our favorite charities was a fantastic idea, said Brian Roome, owner of RichmondMom.com .The support for Richmonds local charities was incredible and it not only brought attention to our website, it also drove awareness of our social media sites and the social media sites of these wonderful charities.
Along with Noahs Children, the nTelos Cares program in Richmond also included the local charities FeedMore, Inc. and Prevent Child Abuse Virginia. As a result of these charities efforts and support of the nTelos Cares program, each will also receive a $500 donation from nTelos Wireless.
Every day, people use blogs and social media channels like Facebook and Twitter to communicate about things they are passionate about and the nTelos Cares program encourages the use of these tools to help generate awareness of worthy non-profits in our local community, said Conrad Hunter, chief operating officer of nTelos Wireless. Its great when we can partner with non-profits and see a grassroots effort start to form and gain momentum.
The nTelos Cares program has been conducted in multiple markets throughout Virginia and supported the following non-profits:
Richmond: CJs Thumbs Up Foundation, Jack & Abby Neo-Natal Foundation, the Full Circle Grief Center, Talk About Curing Autism Now (TACA)
Charlottesville: the Virginia Discovery Museum
Hampton Roads: Safe Harbor, the Childrens Heart Foundation, The Childrens Hospital of the Kings Daughters, ForKids, the Peninsula Food bank, and Southeastern Food bank.
