Yet another game they like to play is when a bill is up to help resolve an important issue that doesn't look like it's going to go their way is to TACK ON something else with it.

Point in question. Granted the debt ceiling, taxes and Obamacare all have one thing in common: they are financial issues.

Now, the ISSUE is, and the opposition to either knows this, is that we cannot raise the debt ceiling because we are flat broke. One side wants to admit that fact and move on, the other wants a bottomless checkbook. Obamacare will make it worse, and more taxes will make it worse. There is no way you're going to come up with a bill that fixes it all. The dems proposal is to raise the debt ceiling, fund Obamacare and raise taxes. The opposing side wants to leave the debt ceiling in place, defund and or get rid of Obamacare and cut taxes, or in the Rino's case raise taxes.

What in my view needs to be done is to take them all separately. Say NO to the debt ceiling. Defund or get rid of Obamacare and do NOT raise taxes during this time and in time redo the tax structure.( so that we pay less) But, that's not going to happen given the current environment.

The game they play is the 'compromise' game. It's supposed to allow each to have a slice of the pie and stop the bickering. What you usually get is a mess and nothing ends up the way it logically should be. You get the two sides saying ' I won't do this, unless YOU do this..'. Then you get the schemers like Harry Reid who sees the goal his cronies want, they'll present the bill, apply the usual tactics and backroom discussion, then tack things on at the last minute that the other side wants. THEN he'll whine and complain to the people about how HARD they "worked" on this bill and that the other side is being obstructionist, and that DIRE consequences will occur if they other side doesn't give in. THAT's the game.

The way it's SUPPOSED to work, or so the public school's say, is that a bill with the concerns of the people is supposed to come before a respectable, mature group of people that will look at the bill, discuss the merits and problems and REALLY "work on it". Then the bill is either passed by both houses and signed by the president and it becomes law, or it's scrapped.

HA,HA, HA... and we believed that crap.

Or perhaps that is the difference between government of the moral, respectable and mature; and the one we have. Is it expecting too much?

Social Security’s Sham Guarantee
By Michael D. Tanner
May 29, 2005
They are not guaranteed legally because workers have no contractual or property rights to any benefits whatsoever. In two landmark cases, Flemming v. Nestor(1960) and Helvering v. Davis(1937), the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that Social Security taxes are not contributions or savings, but simply taxes, and that Social Security benefits are simply a government spending program, no different than, say, farm price supports. Congress and the president may change, reduce, or even eliminate benefits at any time.

RESERVATION OF POWER
Sec. 1104.[42 U.S.C. 1304] The right to alter, amend, or repeal any provision of this Act is hereby reserved to the Congress.
http://www.ssa.gov/OP_Home/ssact/title11/1104...
Supreme Court Case: Flemming vs. Nestor
Background to the Case:
The fact that workers contribute to the Social Security program's funding through a dedicated payroll tax establishes a unique connection between those tax payments and future benefits. More so than general federal income taxes can be said to establish "rights" to certain government services. This is often expressed in the idea that Social Security benefits are "an earned right." This is true enough in a moral and political sense. But like all federal entitlement programs, Congress can change the rules regarding eligibility--and it has done so many times over the years. The rules can be made more generous, or they can be made more restrictive. Benefits which are granted at one time can be withdrawn, as for example with student benefits, which were substantially scaled-back in the 1983 Amendments.
There has been a temptation throughout the program's history for some people to suppose that their FICA payroll taxes entitle them to a benefit in a legal, contractual sense. That is to say, if a person makes FICA contributions over a number of years, Congress cannot, according to this reasoning, change the rules in such a way that deprives a contributor of a promised future benefit. Under this reasoning, benefits under Social Security could probably only be increased, never decreased, if the Act could be amended at all. Congress clearly had no such limitation in mind when crafting the law. Section 1104 of the 1935 Act, entitled "RESERVATION OF POWER," specifically said: "The right to alter, amend, or repeal any provision of this Act is hereby reserved to the Congress." Even so, some have thought that this reservation was in some way unconstitutional. This is the issue finally settled by Flemming v. Nestor.

I admire the young bucks like Rand Paul, Ted Cruz and Mike Lee, and the others with them for standing up against in entrenched RINOS.(for those who don't already know, it's Republican In Name Only) I mean the entrenched old men, who have learned by their game plays on how to keep themselves in power. And of course, there are STILL people out there who vote for the NAME because it's familiar and they fall for the LIES of these old hacks. I mean guys like John McCain, Lindsey Graham, Harry Reid and don't forget the old ladies, Diane Feinstein, Nancy Pelosi. It takes GUTS to stand up for the American people and go against this old blood. I can include or dear leader in that bunch. It's obvious he really doesn't care about us. It's all about him. He's in the news EVERY DAY. Guess he thinks he's a celebrity. He is the most arrogant liar I've ever seen. Harry Reid plays a close second. Sadly as long as these people, these obstructionists, are in power, doesn't matter how good you are in Washington. Unless you can outmaneuver them and get them out of office. You're spinning your wheels.
I thoroughly believe that if we had MORE like Ted Cruz and the like, including the revered Jeff Sessions, a TRUE statesman, we'd be fine. But as long as these old coots are in charge, our country will continue to go down the toilet.
We also need for those in the know to spread the word on how these Washington politicians play their games, heh why not expose their tactics!
Their tactics are: cutting you out of the loop,
(either by by either secret meetings, or meeting when you should be resting or taking time with your constituents or family). They try their best to EMBARRASS you on public t.v
( and by the way, some public t.v. stations are in the Dems back pocket), use inflammatory language to make you look like an ass because you KNOW the general public is either too gullible, too lazy to check it out. They'll accuse you of some horrible act playing on the emotions of the people, they use children as bait. These are the underhanded tactics that POLITICIANS (as opposed to statesmen) use to get their way when they don't want YOU in the way. What is interesting is that they use these time honored tactics repeatedly and the people STILL don't seem to catch on. THIS is gullibility.
It goes without saying....anytime FOX likes someone you zombies like them too. You ppl. are morbidly ignorant.

Obama is particularly dangerous on this front. He twists facts to fit his purpose, uses the same tactics I mentioned above AND he is willing to BYPASS CONGRESS IF HE HAS TO. He has connections, that's obvious. How else can he afford to be as arrogant as he is. He has powerful unions backing him, activist groups with money, buddies spread out over the country, and of course plenty of gullible, LOUD people willing to push his agenda because they think they're going to get free stuff.
He is parading all this for people to see. I don't see how anyone can't see this. WE ARE BEING MANIPULATED! Guess it's because he's handsome, casual and makes lots of promises even if he can't or has no intention of keeping them. If he CAN'T, he's slick and just blames someone else. You know, the old lines, the rich, the republicans, the tea party, on and on and on. He takes no responsibility for his own decisions.
FOX and friends are the ones that twist facts....commonly known as Faux facts. Yep, we blame all this crazy shyt on the teaBRATS and the impotent republicans. You own it boys...now go somewhere and sit down.
