Not quite right. The bill would allow the employee to select O/T or comp time. THEIR choice, not the employers.
The federal government and state government have had this option for years.
The only problem is that most state agencies are understaffed and using comp time is a joke.
I take O/T as you can't spend or eat comp time and I already have 300+ hours of vacation in the bank.
Good to know topix has such a well-represented gv't employee on board. My tax dollars are working almost as hard as you.

What a stupid response. He could be on his day off, work 2nd or 3rd shift and off during the day, on sick leave, on vacation or using the comp time he earned. Engage your brain when you engage the internet.

Me thinks your incorrect, the piece was quite specific about employers being given the choice now. Otherwise the comments by its critics which are obvious would not have made sense.

House approves GOP bill giving employees option of receiving overtime wages or taking extra time off

http://www.boston.com/politicalintelligence/2...

"The U.S. House of Representatives approved a Republican-backed bill Wednesday that would give American workers the option of taking paid ``comp time’’ off for working more than 40 hours a week, instead of receiving overtime pay."

I have worked both federal and state with this option. It is my choice, not theirs.

On its face that true but it still puts employers in a position to screw its employees. Two sides to every bill. Obama is expected to veto the bill.

Well, my little stupid friend, if it is so very easy please post it to prove that you have that capability. Otherwise keep running your mouth like the stupid idiot that you are. You are showing your stupidity that you think with all the money problems that government is having that they would worry about an employee posting on a topix board.

You are the perfect example of the pride that the midget felt when being named "World's Tallest Midget", you think of yourself as "World's Smartest Topix Board Poster". Both titles carry about the same importance in the real world.

Oh, President Obama we have three problems that you MUST address today, Korea is still testing Weapons of Mass Destruction, The private sector job market is still in the crapper and most important we have this Great Topix Board poster named Huck from C-Ville who states that another person from Virginia who might be a state or federal employee is posting too much on Topix. As soon as you solve the Topix Board Problem you can shift your attention to the other two.

I didn't post that I did. If you think boards such as this one don't cooperate with law enforcement, you're naive.
