When were these poll's taken and did it cover the intear state. This has all ready been voted on once and was turned down. Marriage according to the Bible is between a man and a woman. I think thses poll's are crooked. They keep asking people until they find just enough to give them the percentage's they need. Try and find something that is really worth while to do a poll on.

All I got to say is this is wrong and you better start reading the Bible. If one state will change the LAW for this then another one will do it also because USA is begining to be a FOLLOWER. USA use to be the leader and stand up for RIGHT and WRONG but now we just fall for anything and let it go because it's what the people want wheather if it's right or wrong and not what's in the GOOD BOOK THE BIBLE. We have throwed that a side and living wild but there is a price you are going to pay when you leave this world. Think about it. Just saying, Not hating. No need to comment because if the truth hurts then live with it. Everyone has the right to say what they want as long as it's the truth and if you don't belive it then read the BIBLE. SORRY IF IT HURTS BUT IT'S THE TRUTH.

Any Republican who publicly comes out against gay marriage might as well be campaigning for their opponent. This issue and the A-word are sure fire voter repellent for Republicans. The sooner they learn that, the sooner they can think about gaining seats back in the Senate and the House.

I wonder how many of these people live in Northern Virginia?

This sounds like one of those issues that plays a lot better in the urban areas, like gun control.

It's an interesting situation for Republicans, though. They firmly control the House, especially in rural districts, but have a much tougher time in the Senate and National elections.

Do you embrace an issue that's popular in urban America at the risk of angry rural areas and endangering House seats?

The bible also says you shouldn't eat pork and "an eye for an eye". Do you eat pork? Do you think a person should lose his hand if he/she steals? My point is, although I believe the Bible, I do some of the things it says not to do. I believe a lot of people are conflicted about a number of issues.

STOP IT with "the Bible says" and "traditional marriage". The Bible says a whole lot of things, many of which you conveniently ignore because they don't work for you. And marriage, over time and in different cultures, has meant many different things. Just be honest - you don't like the idea of same-sex couples having sex. That's what it boils down to. So here's an idea - DON'T THINK ABOUT IT. It doesn't hurt you, it doesn't hurt society, it's none of your business, you don't get to tell people how to live their private lives, so butt out. Love, commitment, family, and marriage are good for society. Get over it and get over yourselves.

Opinions change, even in Virginia and I really don't mind breaking this to you, but I seriously doubt you represent the opinion of the "intear" state. The neat thing about democracy is that things can be voted on until it is finally gotten right. Folk are going to have the right to marry someone of their same sex if they so choose, sooner than you hope, even in Virginia, better get used to it now.

I've read the Bible, a good book, but not the only one in the library. If you want to believe that the Bible is telling you that such marriages are wrong, that would be between you and God, not our problem. You speak for the belief YOU chose, not one God has made you take, your reading of the Bible, not His fault. I'll bet you weren't aware of this, but there are many Christians who have read the same Bible you claim to have read and who have come to an entirely different conclusion as to what God wants. Sorry.

I am probably wasting my time saying this in the Cville area but this should be about emotions and feelings. This should be from the heart on both sides of the fence but in the end this just boils down to Power, Votes and Money! Both sides are playing games with the issues!

I would like to see where these polls are coming from. Everyone I see and talk to thinks it is very disgusting for two people of the same sex to live together much less be married! Sick people in this world! America should take a lesson from Russia!

Sweetie, you need to get out more, see and talk to people who aren't raving, closed-minded bigots. Your problems with our being homosexual, your problems. Your blessing neither sought nor required. Sorry. And as far as the US taking lessons from Russia, why don't you go there and live for a few years and get back to us as to just how brilliant of an idea your comment was.

Sad state of affairs when it all comes down to votes -- regardless of my opinion on this or other issues.

You are incorrect. If gays/lesbians thought it okay they wouldn't be fighting so hard to do away with traditional marriage. They want everyone's approval so they can justify their actions. So if you are thinking they just want the financial benefits of marriage you are wrong they could easily make a contract. They seek everyone's blessings on their behavior.

So why did God create "Adam and Eve" instead of "Adam and John" or "Eve and Sue"?

Must be some reason.

We are not living under the old testament, we are under the grace of God in the new testament. However even the new testament states that homosexuality is wrong, read Mathew.
