What the heck happened...depending on the agenda media touting different reasons, Dems crossing over? Anti immigrant sentiment ? Anti corporate money corrupted politicians? Even- voters dislike of Jews, and rumors of homosexuality and a few "wanting to cut SS and medicare." Was it a little of all the above? How could someone spend so much and get beaten so badly?

The Tea Party "stunned" Cantor AND the media because in "PROfessional" politician world they cannot accept the idea of a third party period. "Professional" politicians do not want a third or fourth party. They do not want actual competition. The mainstream media and talking heads do not want additional parties partly because their "PROfessional" politician insiders propagate the idea that a third party is no good.

This goes back decades. Ralph Nader, Lyndon Larouche, and Ross Perot all took flack from the political establishment by saying their running takes away votes from their preferred RepubliCANT or DemocRAT. Who the frack is anyone to say that a DemocRAT or RepubliCANT are the only legitimate parties.

To show you the kind of despicable person Eric Cantor has always been and the sore loser he still is, upon losing he did not congratulate the winner as it is in politics and just plain common good sense manners that children are even taught. Nor did he offer the help of his staff to do what they can to support Bratt.

Cantor has always been a very childish acting person and that smurfy smile of his is as phony as he is. Letís hope that Bratt is more of a man and for the people than Cantor will ever be. Cantor is all for power and greed for himself. Republicans you have finally woke up. NOW LETS MAKE AMERICA AS BEAUTIFUL AS IT USED TO BE WITH NO MORE POLITICAL CORRUPTION! LETS GET RID OF ALL THE POLITICAL GREED AND MAKE AMERICA STRONG AGAIN!

so you think the reason was more "the political greed of career politicians" than the other reasons given by the media....especially "anti-immigrant sentiment" which has been cited as the major issue? Do you know and talk to voters in Virginia?(I noticed your IP is Northern Ohio)

So you think these votes are just antiestablishment politician votes and not pro any particular stance on any issues? Did you base this on what you have heard from actual Va. voters?

. Your questions are all answered with the affirmative! I am a life long resident of Virginia! His running for speaker in Washington, and neglecting his home base------ he thought he was undefeatable! Well, what do you know???

Without hearing or seeing much on actual old Cantor district voters I do think this is anti-establishment voting. Like I said third party flack has been going for decades so I can see why the RepubliCANTs, DemocRATs and mainstream media are surprised. There were many issues at work, lower voter turnout and Cantors actual record with HIS district and that includes his attitude and behavior.
