Well this should be good for a laugh.

On what grounds would such a lawsuit be brought, and please do explain how it would not directly violate the First amendment.

Also, please provide evidence - not a quote from some nutter's blog but actual evidence - that the ACLU is trying to "destroy the nation" by means of enforcing its highest laws and making sure the government obeys them.

Otherwise you really need to shut the **** up, because you have no idea what you are talking about.

So under the "equal protection" you want two men to be able to marry...

Well then... what if they are brothers?

You can no longer use the moral argument of right or wrong so how can you prevent incestual marriage between any two people who cannot make a freaky baby? So if mom is past menopause or had her tubes tied or the son had a vasectomy why can't they get hitched? After all if she is worth millions he should be entitled to the tax break just like the gay folks out there.

Anyone???????

(the answer is that just like public nudity or swearing in public society has the RIGHT to make laws that reflect thre moral character of the times. If that means that women can't go around topless at the beach but men can than that is the law and is sanctified. The VOTERS csan vote to suspend all marriage laws for everyone so they can also vote to decide who is elgible just like they do for any other tax break. Farmers can write off fertilizer but homowners cannot.)

personally as long as an employer is not required to provide health insurance they can marry all they want.

As long as they're consenting adults, it's none of your or the government's business. As to tax law, as long as it doesn't violate the fourteenth amendment, that's the IRS' problem. The sixteenth amendment gives congress the right to levy taxes, but not discriminate, and clearly the USSC agrees... that is what the DOMA non-ruling was about.

Sweetie, marriage creates a legal kinship between two people which would otherwise not exist, the brothers already have a legal kinship with each other, they have no right to another. No need for moral judgment. If you don't approve of same sex marriage, don't marry someone of your same sex, it's not really necessary for you to freak out about those who do.

If this is the best argument you've got, you are really in trouble.

Have you ever noticed that when asked for a reason why same sex couples should not have equal protection of the law to marry, most detractors of marriage equality instantly start talking about incest, polygamy, pedophilia, bestiality, etc?

It's almost as though they can't articulate a single argument specifically against same sex marriage.

We already know the slippery slope argument is out of gas, because none of those things came to pass when interracial marriage was legalized. One can expand upon protections of the law without removing restrictions already in effect.

In reality, there is no legitimate push to legalize incest, polygamy, pedophilia, bestiality, etc, except by those arguing against same sex marriage.

Where do you "gay rights" advocates come from? We do not want that scandalous mess shoved down our throats. We need jobs like never before and you ppl. want to push an ungodly devil inspired same-sex marriage. Do you ppl. realize that those who engage in such behavior are actually having sex with demons. There are ancient sex demons that are adept at convincing the weak/double minded souls that its ok to walk on the wild/abnormal side. That stuff is not love.....but lust. EROS EROS EROS......a far cry from the real meaning of LOVE.

Where do you constitution hating people come from? Why do you hate the concept of equal protection under the law? Do you knot think that all people are created equal and were endowed by our creator with certain unalienable rights?

One more question... Just how does allowing same sex couples to legally marry directly impact or negate your own rights?

Just because you think it is icky, isn't a valid reason to deny equal protection of the laws.

What do jobs have to do with this topic? Why are you so interested in what gays do? Why is it gay rights and not human rights or equal rights or civil liberties for natural born citizens? What is the "real meaning of love?" Are you suggesting that marriage is a religious institution by suggesting that it is ungodly or devil inspired?

You are welcome to your own opinion, but not to your own facts.

I have been asking this question of people like you for many years now, and have yet to get a real answer:

How does the legalization of gay marriage affect your rights?

If you attempt to answer, please make sure to only discuss rights you actually have. Controlling the lifestyles of other people, per se, is not one of those rights - no matter how much you may personally disagree with that lifestyle.
