Get real. Nine months investigating? The Mary Winkler murder investigation AND trial took just a little more time than that. If they had something, they would have used it to fire one, the other or both by now instead of paying them.

How is it possible to miss these things that were going on in your school?

Mrs. Kallenberg is suing the system for telling that she was on leave for an investigation and you people want the school system to "tell all" about it? I think that would bring another lawsuit. It is easy to say they are innocent when you are only hearing their side. Obviously the school system cannot disclose everything about the grade tampering until the investigation is over. Did you ever think they might be trying to protect the teachers whose grades got changed against their wishes??
Well if you knew anything you'd know there isn't anything to tell. IF Knox County had anything on grade tampering they would have posted it on every billboard in Knoxville. Trouble is they don't and all of these accusations were made up because Donna Wright is full of herself and was jealous of them both. They then got Debbie Arnold who was also jealous to go along with it. It's amazing to me the ignorance of some people. That's ok, beacause in the end karma will come back around.

Check your innformation. Larry Stephens resigned before the school year ended. Also, Debbie Arnold was not "reassigned" to another school. She was given the opportunity to teach other teachers at a KCS middle school as part of a federal grant given to Knox County. She wanted that position. This comment is an example of what is wrong with the world. People say or write things as fact without having "factual" information. If you don't know firsthand, like I do in this case, then don't comment or make speculations that can hurt someone. Larry Stephens is a good man and would never do something underhanded or inappropriate. This is FACT.
You're funny, don't make comments that could hurt someone? That's what all of this bull started. It's obvious you're NOT close to the case at all. If you were or had half a brain you'd know the truth and it's way obvious you don't.

You are incorrect my friend. Larry Stephens stepped down as the FOOTBALL COACH and PUBLICLY announced that he would remain a teacher. It wasn't until mid summer when all of this broke that he suddenly, and very, very quietly resigned and went away. That FACT is not meant to imply any wrongdoing on his part - just a sudden and abrupt change in his own publicly announced plans. As far as Debbie Arnold is concerned - she's bee stirring up trouble forever in the Powell School system. She has a big mouth and was NOT professional in her discussions with parents and students regarding this entire situation. She should have spent more time in her classroom and less time stirring up trouble for the well liked Assistant Principal Kim Kallenberg of whom she was so envious.

Is someone from WBIR sending these comments to every Knox County School Board member and Knox County Commissioner? I believe each one needs to know how the public feels.

most of you are making comments with out having ever seen or talked to these people. while i do agree they shouldnt have been suspended, Mrs kallenberg did have quite a rep, and it is hard for me to gage the principals performance since, because of her cancer she was not very active at times.
Mrs kallenberg was good at her job but she is know for being very close to the students and many people would consider her school attire not appropriate for a teacher. she has been seen out drinking with students. but i still agree that they are innocent until proven guilty, but i will not say that i am as certain as most of you are about their innocents.
also they year that we got this new principal there were more fights in the school then there had ever been before. i dont know how that reflects upon her but that was still when she actually was in the school doing stuff. but she seemed like a nice person and i would be suprised if she did have anything to do with the grade tampering, if there was any.
all of this also messed up lee pretty bad to, right after all this happened he got a DUI and then was kicked out of UT then went to Marshall where he got in a fight with their tightend.

O, and the people that took their jobs were Ken Dunlap and Mrs Lackey, quite a bit more harsh then the other 2 but i guess they are just trying to keep anything like this from happening to them.
a kid brought a gun to school last week so things arnt back comfortable yet.
and as long as this new guy keeps making little rules for every little thing that happens they wont get comfortable.

Don't count on accurate reporting by WBIR. Sorry, but it is true. If you feel it is important for the Commissioners to read these citizen statements you should tell your commissioner or send them a copy yourself. Knox County's state of education has been twisted up for several years now, and it certainly seems that these women have not been fairly treated. That is unless the Board of Education is hiding something. Either way the Board needs their knuckles rapped...
