That just goes to show you how bad this county is. He knew he wouldn't win, but he wanted to do something that would cripple her campaign as well. I, myself, wouldn't vote for teresa kirkham for dog catcher

Looks to me like she is about as corrupt and evil as the rest of the bunch. And yes, she'll probably get by with this and she'll probably win the election. After all, this is Roane County were talking about.

Some history from 2008:

Could someone have set her up to be accused of this murder? Is that a possibility?

Did this man really commit suicide?

Anybody think the FBI should be brought in to investigate?

I do.

Teresa Kirkham is nothing but an adult bully! Who knows maybe this man was a victim of bullying? Why did he choose her yard even if he was already having personal problems? Strange... I've known Teresa since about 1992, she's NO GOOD!

This whole chain of events is unbelievable. It is becoming a cross between Trayvon Martin type of jumping to conclusions and looking for wrongdoing and the "suicide" of Judge Butler.
Both "camps" are going through pure hell about now. It is doubtful we will ever know what brought Mr. Woods to Ms. Kirkham's home. Perhaps she didn't call 911 initially hoping a co-worker could talk him into leaving and avoiding a scene. Obviously this didn't happen.
Most if not all of us posting here were not present, and should not sit in judgement of any of the parties involved. It is a tragic situation for everybody. Let's sit back, take a breath and let the authorties do their job.
And it wouldn't hurt for all of us to pray a lot.

I cannot believe what I'm hearing from cruel, ignorant, judgmental people right now. Has anyone stepped back and looked at the whole situation! How dare anyone make the statement that Teresa Kirkam had any blame in this. It is such a tragedy for J.T. Woods and his family, Teresa, her co-workers who witnessed it,and her family. The statement for her not calling 911 is a fact. She was actually protecting him from the media. This day is about remorse for the victim, the person's that had to witness the event, and for Teresa. We as a Christain community should be so ashamed of ourselves for the name calling the bashing. When does it end!!!!!!And as far as your concerned OMG, you have right not to like someone due to personal reasons, but you have no right to step over the line and make the allegations that you have against Teresa. Teresa has done the best job she could in the situation she was given. Do you think that she just makes up the numbers in her head for your taxes?!!!!!Again, this goes back to ignorance!!!!!!If you would do just alittle research you would discover that In Tennessee, the State Board of Equalization and the Comptroller of the Treasury work to set the policies and procedures for local assessors and check assessors to be sure those procedures are followed correctly, according to the Tennessee government website.

I have known and delt with Teresa since 1988. She is now, just like she was then. A mean and spiteful person. I don't care what her job requirements are or how she is perceived as doing her job by the public. She is just the dept head. Her subordinates do the work. Not her. If her last name wasn't Kirkam she wouldn't have kept this elected office this long. She has always been out to either make herself look good or to gain something, either political or personal favor from her actions. Her moral compass doesn't work. She didn't call 911 herself because its beneath her. She has a subordinate do it for her. If she is innocent of any blame for the deceased actions, why did he choose her residence to carry out his actions? Most suicidal people choose a private or sentimental place to carry out their actions. The fact he went there is very questionable. I do not mean to belittle the reputation of our local law enforcement agencies but I do hope the T.B.I is at least consulted in this incident due to the fact it occurred on a elected officials property in a election year. A T.B.I investigation not only would protect all involved from later speculation but it could possibly provide a reason for the deceased actions. I have pondered why he carried out the act as he did. But since I don't know him nor had any contact, personally or professional with him, I am at a disadvantage. But as any adult with common sense could tell, there is some unknown factor involved in this. Some personal connection between the deceased and Kirkam beyond mere past coworkers. I have considered he went there to use the gun to cause injury to or kill Kirkam then turn the gun on himself as he did. But was unable to make contact with her. Or he went there to carry out his actions to bring her into focus as the reason why he carried out his death by his own hand. Either way, or for any other unknown reason. Kirkam plays a staring role in this tragedy. By her own fault or not is irrelevant. She is there. No I don't much care for Kirkam. My reasons are personal and moral. I don't think she is a good person professionally or in her private life and refuse to be involved in any thing she has a hand in. But I would not take my life by my own hand over anything she did. My condolences go out to the deceased family and friends. To lose a loved one this way is especially tragic. To Kirkam. I do hope none of your past actions towards this man caused him to take his own life in your yard. "Hard to think he did it at your house randomly". Because you have to live with this now and forever in your thoughts. Too bad you can't eat some of your make up and make yourself pretty on the inside as you try to on the outside.

I made no statement regarding what her job duties are. I also made no allegations toward her having anything physical to do with what happened. I made my remarks solely on my personal opinion of her and what I know to be the truth regarding who she really is. She is a bully in my eyes. We don't want to get going on the ignorance in this county, really...

It appears that Teresa couldn't leave well enough alone. First she fires him and then she gets her nose in his business regarding unemployment benefits and puts an end to his income for survival. She is so caught up in herself and "controlling". Why couldn't she just leave him alone? Wasn't firing him enough? She needs to get a life and leave everyone else alone.

We may never know the truth of what happened? Anyone that runs against her should know that she will dig and dig to find bad things on her rivals. I wonder if this is what may have happened to JT. RIP JT!

You evil minions should be ashamed of your lies about Teresa Kirkham. The KNS today spelled it out. The candidates that are and were running against her lied about her just as some of you are here. If you had to type under your real name you would run and hide. Lowlifes is what you are.

I don't know Kirkham and kinda knew J.T. one thing stands out above all, Kirkham called her employees to come to her aid instead of dialing 911...she put her employees in possible harm's way just to protect her, or so it seems, instead of calling 911 and asking for police help.......does this not raise an alarm for the voters of Roane County????????

To clarify, you are saying she made him commit suicide?

We will never know what JT was thinking on that morning, But one must ask why was he waiting outside her house? If Teresa had of came out would she be alive today ?(we will never know) but maybe not. Nothing good about what happen, its sad,and comments of hate against Teresa is unfounded and serious. Can't we just all get along ? PS I'm glad she never came out, that is the only thing that could have made this tragedy worse.
