To hot out, they are in pre rut. I have been bow hunting hard on my days off in Lewis co. seen alot of deer seen one buck run a doe. your best bet at the moment is to hunt the morning, and if a after noon is a little cool no wind, thats the time to be out there cool after noon is when im seeing all the action not a lot in the morning but the mornings are still cool...

You know what really P Os me about deer season is when you spend all this time laying out the leg traps along their paths and some bow hunter comes along and springs it and to top it off they wont leave it but dig out the post and steal the daggum thing.

a lot of land in Lewis County is leased this year. Not very happy about all this warm weather though. They are not moving at all during the day. Just mornings and evenings when it is cool. Good luck fellers

How about not trespassing on land and shooting anywhere you want. There are more houses in the country part of the county than use to be.
I am all for hunting and do, but Folks please be careful.

Just left my stand at 11. All i seen all morning was two does and a spike. On the other hand leaving my property in muhlenburg headed to calhoun about 6 miles from calhoun a doe ran out in the road. As i stopped another doe ran up in the road with a huge 12 with probably 14 inch G2s and double brows right on her ass. there wasnt 2 feet between his nose and her ass. He never slowed down. He wouldve prob. scrored 150 easy. It was a quick look but got to check him out good as he went across the field

So hunters dont give up there is hope out there. Colder weather is on its way just not as soon as we al want it. My guess would be that after gun goes out that alot of determined bow junkies like myself will come out very rewarded this year...
