If you are within your lawful duty and you give a command for someone to drop a weapon and they do not, you have to make a decision on a split second.
If you wait for them to fire first, yo will be killed or injured very bad.
I have been shot in the line of duty. The drunk driver shot me first. In just 4 seconds 8 rounds had been fired, I went to grady and the suspect wad dead.
Lt. Dan, you just do not understand what you speak.
From what I've heard, the "suspect" didn't have any drugs in the home that he wasn't supposed to (aka cops were wrong to even be there), and the "weapon" he had was a can of pepper spray. Multiple cops couldn't find a better way to deal with 1 old man with pepper spray other than to riddle him with bullets??? Really?! This is not the same as some drunk driver shooting at an officer who pulled him over. This was a man in his own home who apparently hadn't done anything wrong who was gunned down. If you think that's okay, maybe you should move out to LA. I'm sure they will fast track you for promotion since they seem to have a fondness for murderers who wear a badge...

Go cops!
This is what should be done with all drug dealers/users!
Excellent job by the police!
I thank you all for muck you all have to deal with everyday. It must not be easy to deal with scum all the time. Now, there's one less jack leg to deal with!
They were there legally and when you are confronted by the police, you obey commands and don't make violent actions towards them.
Kill'em All and let God sort them out!!!!!!!!!!
Semper Fi!
Wow, kimber can you be any colder and any more judgemental , is this what our country has come down to. This is what one would expect from the former Soviet Union or North.Korea. Is this the kind or country you want to live in. What if this.person was your child or father. Sure none of us like drug dealers, but to kill someone on a suspicion is moraly wrong and is not what America stands for.
The "war " on drugs puts a lot of inicent Americans in the crossover and suspicious people are being killed bythe police every day. America is about freedom and justice , and that should be a model for the world. Otherwise we are no better than anyone else!

It begs the question...Why the hell is an ex felon repossessing cars?...seems shady...but all the facts should come out before anyone condemns either side in this case.

By the way, since there are so many dumbass comments on here...I won't single out any one person, but....this country has bigger problems than this. Too many people are sitting on their asses, while citizens like me bust their asses to pay for a country of degenerates. I am not defending the police but their jobs are becoming almost impossible to do, and just imagine what they might go through, entering a house of a known drug felon. Again, not defending the cops, but if it walks like a duck...well you know the rest. Let's quit wasting money on these degenerates and spend it towards stregthening our law enforcement agencies by hiring educated citizens

Its a terrible event that cops are so nervous that they feel like they need to shoot someone over pepper spray..

Its a system of destruction. Its a system based apon systematic ignorance govern by laws that aren't applied for all in the same fashion. People do alot of finger pointing and name calling, but who is Really offering solutions to the problems? No one in the community is stepping up in a way that would even start change, instead its become as petty as a color coded senario which blocks the collective ability of a community that could perhaps evoke something positive.
