Your post is the only one on this thread that makes any sense. I wonder when we are going to stop making everything a government problem and not personal responsibility. I would like to see the numbers for 2 parent homes as well. Not only is the father not being around a problem, chances are the mother is not around either. The mother may have to spend all her time working leaving the kids unsupervised.

We aren't going to change the two parent versus one parent family any time soon. It does impact graduation, but even more then that there is research that says that a family that shares dinner together, each evening will have children more likely to graduate school. The number of families who never share a meal, is mind boggling.
