I never said I asked for a discount....I don't go around asking for handouts, but if a discount is offered I will accept it. If you have college degree and make less than a teacher, then you should be crying...

please excuse the exclusion of "a". It should read, "If you have a college degree..."

Wow. What ungrateful pigs. These people go to a war and you people don't even think they deserve a FREE chicken sandwhich? And as much as I really adored my own teachers who sat on their fat A$$es while they collected a fatter paycheck than any military person does, they do NOT compare to military personell. sorry. Teachers don't deserve anything for what they do! Find me one that does their job and I'll buy their lazy, ignorant butts a freakin' sandwhich. Lazy, ungrateful people. I say feed all the soldiers every day for free and go fight for your OWN rights then. Man!

Personally, I think Chick-fil-a is way overrated and I wouldn't buy anyone one of their sandwiches unless I really didn't like the person, and then I would make sure to get said person one of those dry super-dry tasteless chicken breast sanwiches on a bun in there with no mayonnaise.

Our heroes deserve a lot better than a pretentious chicken place. Give them a nice meal over at Gumbeaux's. Forget the christian chicken killers.

Quit complaining and pony up to pay for the serviceman's meal out of your own pocket. Now that is an idea that would be a discount to the serviceman and the company that is probably employing many servicemen's spouses while they are away protecting all of us from the things that go bump in the night. If people in this country would quit expecting a handout from every possible direction and if they are so inclined give a little handout to the people they feel in their own heart deserve a handout this country would be a little better place. Hell a $6 meal is a small contribution for someone offering up the protection that the military does to each of us every day.

I don't have a college degree, neither does my wife. Together we both make about $55,000 a year. We live in a 1500 square foot home that will be payed for in 5 years or less. My only debt is my $590 a month mortgage that I send in extra on. We are both in our early forties.
I notice alot of the cars with educator tags are the $40,000 dollar or more SUV's that get 10 miles per gallon. If you can afford this fine but most really can not.
I've had alot of neighbors with two 40 to 50 thousand dollar SUV's sitting in front of a $125,000 dollar house loose their homes the last couple of years. They kept their SUV's though.
Little off subject but you have to live within your means even if your just a teacher with a college degree.

Please don't lump all educators into one category. I don't drive a 40,000 SUV with an educator tag, nor do I live beyond my
means. I don't know any who do either.

Personally I really like lumping all educators into one category. Most of the teachers I had when I was in school were bullies, and that is why we have so much bully conduct among kids is because the teachers are often bullies themselves.
No one ever says that, but it is true.
As far as people living above their means, I don't understand why anyone would buy a gas guzzling annoying big car. That is totally unnecessary and is just shows a brain-dead lack of caring for our environment, other people and even themselves.

Chick fil a has has the best customer service of any fast food place out there. It cost a little more but its worth it. I probably make less than most teachers but you don't see me asking for any handouts. Teachers have become the biggest group of crybabies out there.

You have a point of contact that these service members can call to get you to buy them that meal at Gumbeaux's? Or is this just another self-rightous post?

Oh hell, MSO4, it's just another self-righteous post and I stand behind it while you shoot at it 100%.
If I could afford to give every active military guy or girl a free meal at Gumbeaux, I would. But for now I will just promote Gumbeaux's as a great place to practice patriotism while eating Cajun gumbo and chowder.

Shamelessly. Perhaps our active military people can meet over there, order absolutely anything on the menu, then when the bill comes, whip out the I.D. cards and ask if Gumbeaux's is feeling patriotic. That might be a good test.
By the way, I actually do have a point of contact over at Gumbeaux's. I may speak with the owner soon. I don't think this is a good time for any restaurant to be giving away free food though. They will all be lucky if they can survive this economic fiasco we have going here in Douglasville and surrounds.

Our military is way too big as it is. We need to discount the American people the HUGE costs of maintaining so many when we don't need them. Most of our troops are twiddling their thumbs on some kind of standby status. The other side of that waste is Military Dependents. What purpose do they serve? If a serviceman wants a family, leave the service. It's surely the best thing to do for that family since the military treats families like crap anyway. When I served on a ship the guys with wives were the hardest to keep on task. A letter from a cheating wife would ruin some people. Others were having to deal with wives who wasted all the money while her husband was at sea. It was a mess. I would rather have troops focused on their primary purpose; defending America. ALL of the bachelors on my ship were focused. The married guys were in hell most of the time.

Actually a Chic-Fil-A in Lilburn donates space to a military charity quite often. They do what they can. All businesses do.
