Do any of you plan on attending the "mini" reunion at Taco Mac on March 27th?

You can find info about it on Taco Mac Douglasvilles facebook fan page.

I am slightly younger than you guys, but I do remember a lot of that stuff. My Dad however did graduate from DC back in the 60's, and he taught school there from the early-mid 70's.

I have a brother in law who graduated from LSHS in 1980.

I miss the way things use to be in Douglasville..........Those were the days!!

I also miss the old Lithia Springs drive in.

We cruised the movie theatre that was on Fairburn Road. Remember the Cat's Den (teen hangout until someone decided to get stabbled)? Eating at the Fasteria after church on Sunday afternoons...I worked at "The Oasis" tanning salon on Sweetwater road and there was a game arcade next door that alot of teens would hang out at.
Anyone remember the Lithia Springs Pharmacy on Sweetwater? The owners were always rude to me and I always felt like they thought I was going to steal from them. Fact was, I was harmless, they were just rude to kids.
I loved Sunvalley and also went to Vicko beach when it was open.....not sure what is there now. Times were good then, when everybody knew your name.
Vicko Beach? Now there is a name I have not heard in years. I went there too as a child.

I remember the arcade next to Mcdonalds on Hwy 5
Now kids do not need an arcade.
The social skills they are missing.
We use to cruise Hawthrone Plaza in Mableton in
our old cars.
We would hide people in the trunk of our cars going
to the old Lithia Drive in.

I use to go to Hawthorne plaza to the movies often. Did you know that it use to be a music hall?

Do you remember Bonanza steakhouse which was where the old folks is at? How about the A&P grocery store? I remember my Mom getting those green stamps from there, and we'd drive all the way up I-85 to turn them in for items.

Where gables sits is where my Grandparents had a house back in the day. I had an Aunt who owned a taxi service back in the 40's-50's in Douglas co.

Do any of you remember old Dr. Taylor? His office was right there in the square where the water fountain now sits? I use to go to him, and he scared me. He was shaking like he had parkinsons, and as a kid I was afraid he'd poke my eye out.

I miss O'neals too. We got all of our school jerseys from there.

YES Buckwheats. If I am not mistaken I got my ears pierced there. Were they in the big lots shopping center? I am getting old, and suffer from CRS these days so it may not have been buckwheats. lol

Yep and they turned it into mazzios pizza in the late 80's. I went skating over there on Vansant rd. I also remember the bowling alley on 78, Johnny rebs and I use to do too much crusing at the Micky D's on Hwy 5. On occasion we'd get out of our cars, and go inside to sit down. we'd order something cheap, so they couldn't run us out of there. lol

I remember 1st it was "rollercade west" then "silver wheels" & "olympia" don't hold me to it but I think in that order & Mrs McAdough ran it I think when it was rollercade west or silver wheels.
