Ted’s always been a gun-toting conservative,” he said after being asked to opine on Nugent’s claim that he’s prepared to launch an armed revolt against the U.S. government over the reelection of Presidnet Barack Obama.“But what gets me is that he was actually a draft dodger! I mean, to the point where he didn’t bathe for a week, and vomited on himself to deliberately avoid the draft.”

It wasn’t all criticism, though:“I totally understand why he did that,” Snider added,“but all of these Republicans who love Ted don’t seem to know or remember that too well. It’s crazy that he’s become one of the voices of conservative America even though he was a draft dodger. If you don’t believe me, Google it.”

The rest of the draft dodgers are probably democrats. Just sayin'.

BTW, why do you care now? You STILL mad? Worried? Just doesn't make sense.

Before I'd believe Dee Snider on anything I'd take a gander a Snopes which has the matter as "undetermined".

It seems his service records would also be a more credible source than even Nugent's early interview about the matter where he says he was pulling the leg of the reporter.....

From Snopes found here:

http://www.snopes.com/politics/military/nugen...

The section regarding his service record states:

"He was classified 1-5(high school deferment) in 1967 and 2-5 (college student deferment) in 1968; then after being reclassified 1-A (available for military service) in 1969 he was rejected as a result of a physical exam and given a 1-4 classification.(The 1-Y classification denoted persons 'qualified for service only in time of war or national emergency' and was generally assigned to registrants who had exhibited medical conditions that were limiting but not disabling.) After the 1-Y classification was eliminated at the end of 1971, Nugent was reclassified as 4-F."

I don't know about any of you, but I highly doubt the military at the time would classify being dirty, scraggly, and not visiting the facilities properly as a "medical condition" that would keep someone from service. Those drill sergeants have a way of whipping people into shape....even poopy boys.

Could it be that Nugent had a medical condition of some sort that he didn't want to disclose and he made up an outlandish tale?

Perhaps this is why Snopes has the situation as "undetermined".

I'll take Nugent over Dee Snider any day. Didn't Dee wear lipstick???

For what's it's worth I am a certified teacher....left the classroom a few years ago to pursue other things and due to some health issues.

Most regulars on this board know that.....

I'm sorry you have an issue with the times I'm online or offline, but it's really not my problem.

Hey EHT -- I always heard he was totally deaf in one ear, which is probably due to his obnoxiously loud-ash music back in the days. Everybody I ever knew who went to his concerts said their ears were ringing and they could not hear the next day. "Did you guys go see Nugent?" "Hell yeah, they were loud as hell!" That is the response EVERY time I asked.

I am a lover of rock and roll but it's just not necessary to be so damn loud, never was, never will be.

I love Stranglehold and most all of his music, but as a person I think Nugent's a jerk.

I think he is right on some of his views but I don't like him either. He is an arrogant jerk. I wouldn't tell him that to his face as he can shoot a moving mountain goat with an arrow at a distance of a hundred years.
The lefties would like to start another lie that he is leading the Republican Party. LOL

We have the love of his music in common.....:) Sometimes I would like for him to cool his jets a little with his rhetoric though. It just polarizes people, and I'm getting a little tired of that.

I thought being a draft dodger and running to Canada was the most admired thing by liberals during the VietNam War. Why the sudden change in liberal attitude? Can't liberals ever make up their mind?

I would be willing to bet that Nugent was among a handful of conservative thinkers that dodged. The rest, I'm SURE, were libs. It just doesn't make sense to think otherwise. The libs haven't even stopped to think about that. Instead, they pick out ONE conservative, pound their chests and expect the whole conservative party to hang their heads in shame. I'm telling you, liberals are mentally challenged. Well, heck! They voted for Obama AGAIN. Their mental challenges are OBVIOUS.

Ted Nugent you infantile wussy heed Laura Ingram and shut up and sing soiling your pants to avoid the draft you ain't no hero. Here's part of a song by a great man John Edmond created after an air Rhodesia vickers viscount was shot down by a shoulder launch surface to air missile in 1978. You ain't no hero when your preaching fear and hate then shy away from battle from the forces of our state. I could give the green leader song about the 1978 air raid on the terrorist camps in Zambia. Speaking of camps should not Ted be sent to camp x ray in Guantanamo Cuba or at least have white chicken feathers mailed to him.
