Arbor place has secured the funds to install metal detectors at 3 entrances. The rest will be closed off and only employees with badges will be allowed to enter through those doors. If your packing, now the detector will go off when you walk through

If you are serious, thanks for the warning. I always "carry".

Oh! Perhaps you are right.

Doesn't make sense. The mall is dangerous enough already without making good citizens walk back and forth from the parking area unarmed.
I am sure if there were detectors there would be warning signs before you enter. Otherwise half of D'ville would be getting arrested.

I find this extremely unlikely.

I am pro-gun and think everyone (who legally can) should carry everywhere they go.

Now, lets analyze this. There are 3 main entrances (theatre, beside bed, bath and beyond, and below the food court)

Starting at sears and working counterclockwise ,
Sears: 2 entrances 1 up, 1 down
3 dollar cafe: 2, bar area and main,
Forever 21: 1
Belks: 2
BB and B: 1
That store on the corner: 3, 2 down, 1 up
Jc Penny: 1
That's all the public entrances I can remember, there may be more. This doesn't account for the employee entrances and loading docks.

That's at least 14 entrances for the public. No way do they shut down 11 of those and funnel everyone down to the 3, just won't happen.

Now, placing detectors at all entrances will be expensive. Not only do they have to buy not 14, by dozens more because some entrances are 3-5 doors wide. They have to man each station. Every woman with a purse full of nail files, tweezers, etc will be stopped and searched, slowing down and bogging down the entrances to the mall.

The mall will have to charge more rent for all the man power and stores will lose revenue because no one wants to wait even longer than they already do. The stores will move and te mall will close.

I agree. I just didn't stop to think about it. I guess with so much going on about guns, I pretty much believe anything. If I had even spent a minute on it, I would have realized it didn't make sense.

LOL, BS, there would be long lines just trying to get into the mall, they would lose customers and are not going to do that.

they can savw mony by just buying some of those metal detectors from.radioshack. you cab turn one sidways and it will berp when it sinces metal lke a gun or nife. I think thwy cost around 100 dolors each they could aford that and not charge more for rent and make the mall safe
