Why was it required that over 13 police cruisers speed to the scene? I was almost sideswiped by a cobb county cruiser running a stop sign on Mars Hill Rd. Ridiculous. It just so happened that there was a shoulder large enough to run into and not wreck my vehicle. I passed the scene off of Hill Rd on the way to the house and there were more than enough cruisers on site.

Has the police or news media bother to inform the public that this homeowner was a police office himself and appears to be another case of police brutality. These young men were actually visiting the homeowners son and the homeowner came outside the house and confronted the boys and started the incident. I would like the police to confirm this information.

I would like to know how they received some of the charges they got if they were not on public property and never entered the house. Something seems a little fishy to me. Loitering can only be done on public property. Cruelty to children (the child was in the house. Burglary can only be given if you stole something. They have not said they found stolen property on the Jenkins brothers and they never entered the mens home. Also why are they not pressing charges on the homeowner for shooting them when they were not armed? Does anyone know more about this incident? I would really like to have it investigated but need to know where to start. I just do not think something is right about this one.

About 30 min. prior to this incident, one of the men jumped out in front of my car and played "chicken" with me almost causing me to run off the road. It was less than 1/4 of mile from Neil Rd.

Everyone seems the need to chime in, but I can promise you it was not one of these boys 30 minutes prior, jumping in front of you, they were at thier friends house on Neil Rd. It might have happened by someone else, but it was not one of these young men.
These young men are getting a bad rap, quite frankly I am thinking of moving out of Cobb County because it is not safe to raise my children in a place where a grown man can shoot unarmed and definately not so dangerous kids in the back and get away with it. The police obviously did not do their job and check out all the information concerning the incident. One of the young men is fighting for his life in the hospital, because he was shot in the back and then shot again. 6 shots were fired, to me that is pure revenge, I have heard rumors from the son, that his Dad will finish the job. Fix it Cobb County police, before someone wlse gets hurt or the citizens will have to take this to State or Federal.

I was not there and do not know what happened.
I don't think any of you were either.
With only the AJC article to go on that I could find, these "young men" (26 and 27) were trying to get into someone's house who did not want them there.
You do that at my house, you get shot too.
All of you saying Police brutatlity/fishy/etc.. where are you getting your info??

I'm getting my information from one of the parties involved. Also, I have spoken to a witness to this incredible mess. Remember those old westerns you would watch as a kid, and they said, "Only a coward would shoot someone in the back."? Well? What would you call this man? The men were not by the house. If you drive down the street you can see the blood stain. It's nowhere near(or in) his house, his lawn, or his drive way. I have lived in this area for quite a while. I know of the (shooters) family. The older son was a trouble maker when he was younger and apparently he still is.
Make this right Cobb county police department.

How about learning how to spell & speak proper grammer before you start blogging on how much you know about a situation?! Work on yourself before you start butting into other people's business.

I am closer than you will ever know, and I think this is not butting into other peoples business as much as the importance of what is really going on and that Cobb citizens should know there is more to this. That is what blogging is for; Concerned residents to talk. BTW PS citizen, no one mentioned police brutality, Just the fact that this needed more investigation, not just the word of a drunk man shooting at unarmed people.

If you look back up to concerned citizen's post, they most certainly did mention police brutality. And we just need to let the police records of the "men" involved speak for themselves...

Look folks, the law states...A person has every right to shoot an intruder if they are in the house and threatening your life. However, they must be inside the house. These young men were walking down the street and were Not inside the house. The blood stains prove it.

In addition, the young men were trying to get away from the shooter, as he shot one of them in the back (4 bullets), one in the arm and one in the leg. All three young men that have been shot were brothers.

If Mr. Farmer were just trying to scare them, a shot in the air would have worked just fine.
If this had one of your children, you would be outraged and want to get to the truth. The victims were acquaintances of Joe, not thieves or terrorist as the police claim and papers reported.
Mr. Farmer continues to threaten and harass the young men and has publicly stated "he will finish the job." He obviously has a vendetta against the young men and has the propensity for Murder.

I am a father of teenage children and concerned about the safety of all the neighborhood children. Mr. Farmer is the one who should be in jail, not the victim. This is wrong and our community should be outraged and demand justice.

LOL, as someone else aready pointed out... the second or third reply clearly said it.. and others have then said things like Cobb County police protecting their own, etc.
Missing something as simple as this pretty much discredits everything else you said.
Now, again, i was not there, I do not know what happened. But it appears to me that neither the shooter nor the victims were angels and I bet this will all come out in the end.

The Cobb county police are guilty of covering up and failing to properly investigate one of there own, I really do not see why anyone is surprised by this kind of police work, This goes on every day of the week, I am from Chicago and I can say from experience that most of the Cobb county police would not last one week in the city streets, I have often wondered if they just hand out badges to anyone who is interested in hiding behind a badge when taking someones life, what happened to serve and protect? It has become (shoot to kill)

Well said. How would you go about bringing this to the attention of other concerned citizens who may be unaware?
