You copied and pasted that directly. You did some ommitting however.
From the rest of the article:
Spending on Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security were about seven percent higher --$8 billion than last year. Had these shifts in the timing of government spending not occurred, the two-month deficit figure would have been $8 billion lower than last year’s figure – about $227 billion.

Well, they would be foolish then. As we can plainly see he's intentionally doing partial quotes to make things look worse than they truly are. Isn't that just about the same thing as lying?
Your first two sentences absolutely made me laugh out loud. You libs are the WORST about picking and choosing specific paragraphs from an article and leaving out the part that doesn't support your agenda. As a matter of fact, I posted something to that effect a couple of weeks ago. I was spending time on Google looking for the particular articles and posting the link so that people could read the ENTIRE article. You are INSANE if you think the conservatives on Topix have cornered the market on THAT trick. You libs WIN that one, too. Rightwing, in particular, is a frequent cut and paste abuser.

Yes, copy and paste, too support the fact that government spending is increasing. In response to the remainder of the article, money cannot be "shifted" around in order to pretend it doesn't exist as an expenditure. Any attempt to do so, is the lie. Your attempt to justify it, is the lie. The same goes for the statistics regarding the employment numbers. The ones reported, show only a favorable side, not the whole picture, another lie, by your definition.

My friend just lost her job with at&t. Her entire department was let go. That's 250 more people out looking for a job right at Christmas. She has worked at that company since she graduated from college about 25 years ago.

The federal budget deficit was $292 billion for the first two months of fiscal year 2013,$57 billion more than the shortfall recorded in October and November of last year.
This was your original cut and paste. Notice that you included the numbers "57 billion more than recorded in October and November of last year".

Money spent is money spent, a total is a total. HOWEVER, when you include a time-frame comparison, you have to report those shifts in time-spending that cause unwarranted aberrations
.
In this case, the truth was in the portion of the article that you intentionally chose not to include.

AT&T layoffs are typically widely viewed and reported. There is no mention of November or December 2012 layoffs mentioned in the press, except for a handful in the North East.

Their Q3 earnings were solid showing a slight increase over 2011. Revenue at 31.46 BILLION.

AT&T has always engaged in layoffs just before Christmas if they are doing any, it's their pattern. When did this happen?

Are you suggesting that I made that up????

They were told two weeks before Thanksgiving that it was "possibly" going to happen. Her last day(and the last day of her entire department: 249 others) at work was about a week and a half ago. I heard it though another neighbor, so I called HER. SO, it looks as if YOUR TYPICAL SOURCE didn't report it. She wasn't a UNION employee, so perhaps THAT is why it wasn't reported. She was always sent all over the country to fill in whenever the UNION members threatened to strike.

SO, take your INSINUATION and shove it so far up your chickenButt until it comes out your empty chickenHead.

Relax. There was no such insinuation that it didn't happen. I thought perhaps it happened last Friday and hasn't been reported yet.

Do a google search for at&t layoffs an you'll see that pretty much every time the word layoff is even said near the word AT%T it gets reported. In this case, there appears to be not one single word of 250 AT&T jobs lost.

Too bad she wasn't union. She and her department would have had somebody to stand up for her against the random whims of the corporate machine.

Yeah......you were insinuating.
She wouldn't be in a union. She had to clean up their mess. She's much too intelligent. She'll land on her feet.

Well, the deficit widened again in November,$50 billion +.
