It is good stuff. One time I was fooling around with the owner's granddaughter and she was allergic to tomatoes so they had to make her some without any tomato-based stuff in it. Robo's is the bomb, yo.

That place is like a food institution after being open so long in Wise Co. You rarely go by there that the parking lot is not full and there no places to park..I am a pretty picky eater, have been eating Robo's on the reg since I was a kid and only one time have they gotten my order wrong in all that time and were very fast and friendly about making it right. Food is always fresh, well prepared and tastes freaking awesome for a burger and some onion rings with a thick, rich chocolate shake,, yummy,, Im getting hungry now. Robo's IS the bomb, yo!

They did at the time. All I know is, her name was Candace, she had a cousin named Zeke, and we went to Robo's to see her grandparents. She may have been a damn liar, after all, but then they lied, too.

I don't think there's anything that comes close to Robo's chili. You can get Senor Housers chili at Food City, it's the same thing they use at the Hob Knob in Gate City.

Sorry, Nannie Dove came up with the original chili recipe and was the mother-in-law of the second owner named J.D. Cantrell. She ran the place when it first opened at its old location. The original owners were 2 fellows named Jim Robinson and Robert Bond, that is how they got the name "Robo's . The orginial Robo's is where Pixie is now located, sometime back JD bought it and moved Robo's to the current location where Nannie continued to run it. A relative of Nannie's who had worked there took over the old location with help from her husband and changed the name to Pixie! Not trying to be a jerk but I wanted to set the record straight. Although both are still very good neither is nearly as good as when Nannie and Shirley Mullins were working there.

I remember being in the first grade in the old building on the Methodist Church hill. When lunch time came, we would walk down to Robo's, now Pixie, and get either a hot dog or hamburger with french fries & a drink for 25 cents. It was sooo good.
Childhood memories.....glad I have them!

Food not worth what they charge. Found hair in my hamburger last time I ordered. Will not eat there anymore. Nasty!
