Hope For Garrett

It's almost May. In a town called Potsdam, birds are chirping, the sun is shinning, and police are solving a child murder...... Yes, I'm talking about the October murder of Garrett Phillips. I know this has devastated many people, especially those close to Garrett and his family. That also includes my child. I have nothing against the police, but I haven't heard anything since early March. I know that this takes time, but I won't be happy until we know that this killer is out of town. If anyone knows anything later than early March please tell me. Thank you so much!

First off, you shpold post under one name. Don't think people don't realoze that your just trying to stir up crap.

Second, Kids are not sitting around crying for this kid, quit the BS trying to make someone feel bad.

Lasty, death is a part of life, life still goes on, people get over it. In a year no one will remember. And no one will evr be charged, because they were too smart.

"Tonight" - You are insensitive and flip with your words and you obviously have little emotional depth. For the family and friends of Garrett -- they will always remember him and will forever remember how someone with a huge ego and a damaged soul changed the stories of their childhood forever. They not only cry over him, many of them are in counseling to try to figure out how to manage this type of grief. I am an adult and I think about Garrett every day. Natural death is a part of life: Senseless murder of another human being, particularly an innocent child is anything but a natural part of life.

The police are not issuing official information because they don't want to damage an ongoing investigation. What you should know, though, is that the person who most believe committed this crime does frequent this Topix forum and his posts are being analyzed to build a case for prosecution. He isn't nearly as "smart" as someone suggests.

He's your cousin? I'm so sorry! If anyone has a right to talk about this, you do. May god bless you and your family.

"Tonight" has also made rude comments on the death of Garrett on another post titled "Is A.A.K closing down?" Would love to know why this person has such nasty things to say about Garrett and his family.......

First off I never said anything bad about the kid. I said to quit using his dying as an excuse to continue to stir up crap.

his death has nothing to do with AAK closing or not.

Tonight -- you may not believe what you said was rude or "bad" but the fact you said that in a year no one would remember, or that kids aren't sitting around crying over him, you came across as pretty insensitive to how people are feeling. If you had a child who was a good friend of Garrett's -- you would understand the trauma they have and continue to experience. It's not the same as an accident or illness; murder shakes their very sense of safety or justice in the world. I do agree with you -- Garrett's death should have no impact on the examination of the Middle School closing as a budgetary consideration.

And Seems Funny to Me -- I am a friend of the family who works as a criminal profiler in another region of the state. I have been online since October 25 in this and other forums, viewing posts to see if the potential murderer or any potential lawyer is "unwise" enough to post what they might use in a legal defense to impose reasonable doubt. I am not letting anything out of the bag as my monitoring and compilation of posts is complete for now. My profiling tells me the person is brazen so me even warning him/her that we are monitoring his/her activity just increases his/her posting even more. It's part of their psyche so it works for us!

This whole thing is still a shock to me. Why? Why would someone do something terrible like this? I'll shut up with my sadness now. Though I guess that the police will probably not give any more info to the public until they've solved the case. I'll just wait......

Ok. I never post anything on these things but I find it extremely hurtful for "tonight" to get on here, and completely disrespect this entire situation. You seem to be the only one here who is "stirring" anything up. What happened to Garrett was incredibly horrific. The fact that there has not been justice for him, gives anybody who knew him or didn't know him, the right to voice their opinion. One individual innocently asked for some information. If you don't have any, or don't have anything decent to say, why bother? To hurt someone?
I in fact do know Garrett's family and I cannot imagine what they are going through. Every kid has a right to be upset and it doesn't matter how much time goes by, it will always be a painful memory. I have lost a very good friend about a year ago and it still kills me. So yes, as death passes, we are still here to remember and cope.
I've rambled enough, but please... if you don't have anything respectful to say, please don't say anything. This is a child, anybody with a heart should have compassion for this.

Totally correct. Tonight, I do think that you were being a bit rude in this type of situation. I'm not trying to hurt your feelings. I am accquainted with Garrett and found this incident terrible as well as sickening. Seriously, I'm sorry for your friend.

My stories aren't as ridiculous as you suggest and I am not trying to impress anyone (especially you). My post was to someone else and yes, there are several of us who have been monitoring potential statements from someone we believe is on here that might be used in a defense.

But I can tell you your posts are fairly ridiculous in that you are trying to trivialize a situation that has impacted an entire community and left sadness and pain. And given your "Queen of Sheba" reference, I could actually profile you quite easily.
