The cruel irony here is that people will continue to hire people like this, inspite of the bad reputation. I will always wonder why people who need an auction don't seem to understand signing an auction contract is a big, big step, yet they seldom ask for references and fail to perform their due deligence and validate those references. Anybody can have a professionally designed website and fancy signs...That does not make them a reputable, competent and honest auctioneer.

One would think that our "justice" system would come up with a way to FORCE people such as Stephen Zedd to pay his customers ... Even if it means working on an inmate crew and having his "earning" go towards the people that he owes $$$$$ to ...

Instead, our courts turn a "blind eye" and allow such under-handed dealings to continue to happen ...

Hope you sleep well at night Mr. Zedd ...

He owes me money too. He auctioned the contents of my mother's estate on Sept 19th and I got nothing.

Dirt bag. I attended several of his auctions, all of which he showed up late. His ugly mother and father were there at a Norfolk city auction (years ago) and the mother refused to refund my $100 deposit, even though Steven showed up more than a half hour late. I had to wait until the end of the auction! AND he was extremely rude. Couldn't stay off his cell phone while trying to conduct "business".
You want a legitimate, family owned and operated, friendly auction company... there is one choice. People's Auction Company of Chesapeake. Jack and his son Wesley have been doing it for years. I sold many things there, never waiting more than a week for my check to arrive in my mail box. Classy country people.

We were glad we chose NOT to use Zedd for our auction...still looking for someone to do this. He was very pushy, wanted us to sign the contract that day and bugged us all week. I finally had to tell them to leave me alone...I felt very uncomfortable and felt he was sketchy....Glad I listened to my gut.... I hope people do not continue to use his services...look around, I am!
