Ok, so the police got the women, but what about the men who pay them for the service? They know that getting sex in exchange for money is a crime. I'm so sick of seeing that only the hookers get arrested. The police need to arrest the men too. I do not understand why they just don't arrest both. It's all bullshit!!! If you're going to enforce the law, then do it all the way, not half ass! Arrest everyone involved and not just the hookers! It takes to to tango.

"spread of std's" That is what rubbers are for, plus I bet a larger percentage of newport news college students walk around with STD's than hookers. Maybe even high schoolers. Hookers are probably even more safe than regular folks due to an unwanted pregnancy taking them out of action for a little while... unless someone has a fetish for preggos and will pay to play.

Prostitution should be legal anyways since it is a victimless crime. Gotta make money some way. Glad the NN police dept. still knows how to waste it efficiently though.

Heaven forbid someone make a dollar selling the only asset they have... their body. If they've got 'job' skills let them use it (lol).

Craigslist is full of porn and scams. They need to filter what they put on their site.

I think the article said she was in HER apartment, HER apartment!!! What she does in her own apartment is her business, not some nosey neighbor who would probably like to visit her themselves. Really, Leave her alone or better yet, get a hobby

Exactly. I know if I had a vagina I would post also. Penicillin works wonders. Hold on to your wallet. I have purchased sex there and it was great!

Why is it the cops have to set up a sting. These people were not hurting anyone. Now if they were out walking the street showing off thats somthing different. Why is it not illeagle when the cops set up a sting??

Prostitution is no different than meeting a women at a bar buying her a few drinks then having a one night stand

The police dept. and their little sting operations are no match for the worlds oldest profession. Prosecution of prostitutes takes large amounts of court time and money. The prostitutes then return back to what they know best in order to survive.
If history tells us anything there is no possible way to prevent prostitution, not as long as humans behave as humans. There is no logical answer to the question of preventing prostitution anymore then prohibition prevented people from drinking.

Cops should have other things to worry about than to harass women who's trying to make some living especially when there are millions of people unemployed in the f@#$ed up economy we live in.

What is the big deal. my wife gets paid for sex with me. she gets a car, a house, food, jewelry. the only differents is I have to put up with her sh** everyday. so get real. as long as you don't have a pimp it should be fine.

Prostitution needs to be legalized...plain and simple. Let these women make a living. Give them a W-4 to fill out and the gov can collect taxes and help regulate the industry. This will keep STD's to a minimum and save many thousands of dollars in lawyers/court costs.

Plus, how can any of us judge another person?? Sex is something that 99.99% of all humans on the planet will experience in their lives. We all do it and we all enjoy it! It is a necessary part of human existence.

Plus the cops have to have something more important to worry about. Maybe it's not a huge problem in Newport, but heavy drugs are a serious problem from coast to coast! These women were selling sex...a victimless "crime" They could have been selling meth, coke or Heroin! I'd MUCH rather have a hooker living next to me than a tweeker selling speed!!!

I agree with you realist.
What's the big deal? They're consenting adults selling a service to consenting adults and harming no one. Their only "crime" is not reporting their income, and who can blame them?

Get real - everyone knows what the "women seeking men" area of craigslist is for. If you don't like it, don't go there.

these girls are more moral than my ex who not only got "paid" for having sex with me as b-man pointed out, but she - with the support of the archaic Virginia court system - gets paid for the rest of her life for abandoning me when she decided to do someone else. Now ~that's~ the crime people should be upset about. It happens to men all the time.
