It is an injustice to try erase the memories and legacies of the people who lived in Ida Barbour from 1955 to 2003 when it was no longer occupied. Ida Barbour was a breeding place for some of Portsmouth top politicians, athletes, educators, police officers, administrators and great citizens. Sure, this low income neighborhood had of problems but overall we made outstanding contributions to the Portsmouth community.
