Is public safety the first question or is it the finances. Th Portsmouth Gearbox Failure Investigation October 14, 2012 on page twenty reveals the set back issues with the current wind turbine.
"The recommended ice throw calculation, 1.5 *(hub height + rotor diameter), indicates a minimum safe distance of 213 meters (699 feet). Per Figure 6, Highway 24, portions of the High School and several houses fall within this distance."
