Don't know about what is on their show room floor....but I have bought a living room suit and bed from big lots (living room from Portsmouth and bed from burg) Everything I have purchased from them has been wrapped in plastic and I have had no problems with any kind of bugs...but I will say I am not sure if I will purchase anymore items from them....The saying you get what you pay for is true. My bed is holding up fine and it is about 2-3 months old, but the couches are looking pretty rough and have been since about 3 months after I bought them. I don't know, maybe we are just hard on our furniture, but the middle of them started sinking in pretty quickly.

Hey dumbass, how often do you hear of high class furniture stores having "bug problems"? How about never! Big Lots is a store for low income/ Welfare Families, so it does not surprise me that this would happen. I'm more surprised at how the author of this thread was surprised that something like this could happen. Cheap Furniture + Low Income Families = Roaches R' Us. No High Horse required to figure that out.
Hey dumbass... have you been in Big Sandy lately? You can hardly move in there the first few months after tax season. I saw a man who looked as if he has not changed his pants in 20 years rolling on a mattress.

Also, why is there this assumption that a "low income" family = filth?? Being clean or not has nothing to do with income level.

@RN Mom - You stupid cunTt, I'm sure that 99% of "filthy" or "trashy" people you see are low income. Also, Big Sandy is far from a "High Class" Furniture Store, but us appalachins from Scioto County think it is, and no one can stop your common welfarian from going in and looking around, so it does not surprise me you seen a man that "hadn't changed his pants in 20 years"

Since many of you are confusing yourselves with what I said, I'll break this down Barny Style:

1. Big Lots is a store with cheap furniture and other items at cheap prices. 95% of the people who shop there are low income/welfare. Due to the poor condition of that store, it's easy for bugs to get into it's furniture, doesn't surprise me

2. High end furniture stores probaly do have bugs.. In the attic!

you before you said never....now you are switching to probably? which is it then?
bed bugs can hitch a ride on anyone regardless of income level. they are in theaters, furniture stores retail clothing stores roach motels AND 5 STAR resorts...on airplaines in cabs, everywhere....to think that because you make a certain amount means you are immune or that it's just a poor people's problem is just plain ignorant.
umm not really

Ive seen some pretty nice looking cars parked at Big lots/SAL. One older fellow told me that he can afford his nice car and house because he shops there. Its not that he is poor.. he is frugal. Something everyone should be nowdays.

As far as the bedbugs, just like lice, they can hit any class level.

bilbo is a bumba$$, by putting down those who make less money than her it makes her feel better about the fact that she has nothing to offer anyone or the world and tries to comfort herself with money. it's quite sad really

High class furnature stores DO get mice, and bugs. Use that stupid head of yours--you guys honestly dont much about biology or science or anything else for that matter. they dont make the furnature at the high class store, it is sent from a wharehouse, put on a truck or boat, and the only reason why places can hide it better is that they pay me big bucks to come get rid of them. I KNow I have been to the highest of high class places around here and within 200 miles. These stores have many issues with pests that you can never know about. I run an exterminating business, and portsmouth OH is # 1 within 100 miles. Bugs are attracted to the river, and they mulitply very fast. Dont look down on ppl who have mice, fleas, bed bugs, lice, or even roaches. just make sure you that your home is treated 2 times a year and your neighbor wont bring you bugs. Ill take your money and make sure your home is bug free guaranteed

Bedbugs are not attracted to filth. They are drawn by warm bodies.

Try getting a bunch of Nuvan Prostrips off of Amazon and put two in each room and leave for a week. Anything you can stick in a dryer, do so for at least 40 minutes of high. Sprinkle diatomaceous earth around and vacuum every other day, throw the load out immediately after.
