I thought General hospital was on the right hand side as you are coming south, it was apartments for a long time before they tore it down.

It was on the left if going south, on the right if going north. Kings daughters is there now. Yes it was apartments long after Portsmouth General closed the hospital facilities

Ya got that backwards -- it was on the left if going north, on the right if going south. It was on the west side of US-23.

I think you have your left and right mixed up.It was where Kings Daughters is now, which is on the right if you're heading South and on the left if you're heading North.

If you go to the ER entrance in the back of SOMC and take the first hallway to the left you will see a display of pictures of the medical history of Portsmouth. If you keep walking about halfway through the display is a picture of the hospital and a story about it from a newspaper. They also have an interview with Drs. Smith and Everett in the newspaper article.

Where was southern hills located at? I remember when my daughter was born they were remodeling SOMC then known as scioto memorial. They had to transfer her blood to southern hills to be tested because they didn't have the lab at that time.
