true? but our law makers want to show the people that they are doing something? the question is? what will stop this? something does, have to be done? the really bad thing is, if someone gets it in there mind to do something like this, also knowing there going to blow there own head off? i dont see anyone stopping that?

Especially in our county with such a shoddy sheriff's department. Honest people need to defend themselves.
Gun Control will work like Drug Control. Make it illegal and only the criminals will have it.
Meth, weed, heroine, Oxy... all illegal, yet still all over the streets.
The question shouldn't be, what did the psycho use to kill?
The question should be, how can someone be so miswired that they "could" do something like that?
We need to address mental health. We need to address the things that happen to allow a human being to be able to even think up something like this.
Crime has been around more than 10,000 years. Guns have been around for 600 years. Violence is nothing new either. So we need to ask why now? Why, just in the past few decades, have so many people turned to this type of psychotic rage? What is in our society that hasn't been in it for the past 580 years?

I.M.O., I believe it is all the violence in movies, t.v., and video games availible that have a great impact on the way we think and act as a society today.... And lets not forget the blood sucking MEDIA..... Some people cannot seperate reality from fiction... A gun is just a tool....

Maybe he should have a law against preachers (mayor) that cheat on their wife ! How many times getting caught is enough. He needs a gun law on himself, keep it in your pants.

Last time I checked people were committing heinous acts of violence long before violent video games and movies ever hit the shelves. What's to blame for all of the acts of genocide, rape, murder, etc over the course of history? Its not the media, its not video games or movies, bombs, or even guns. It's simple, PEOPLE are to blame. We may be the most intelligent species to roam the Earth, but we clearly aren't the most peaceful.

The manual says that security rests on three cornerstones; education, engineering and enforcement. I think a logical approach will work a lot better than emotionally thrashing away and pursuing efforts ( gun control) that won't produce any benefits.

You have to have a gun, or they just break in and do home invasion or they use one on you. AM I confused or did they vote City Manager style back into Portsmouth? Malone should know better, he grew up in the ville. He knows violence. He's starting to act like Obama. Is he confused or something?
