Jay Willis would be a terrible choice. I PRAY that doesnt happen! But at least he's not going to be presiding over anymore custody battles. If you ever want to Find out some shocking stuff, look up his judgements and find out his policies on custody a d child placement in such cases! The man is ignorant and egotistical, period.
Your very right on about that! You can't get away with things like that and expect to run for judge. God will take care of him as well as Karma.

Why is he not going to be presiding over anymore custody battles?

I think Mr. Willis has done a pretty good job during his many years serving Scioto courts. I understand that Lisa has some issues with his decisions, but it would help if she would provide some specific points of disagreement.

Waving a banner to the effect "Jay Is Bad" is no more persuasive (or informative) that an equivalent protest against President Obama or Governor Romney. If you actually have well-grounded complaints, then share them, and possibly we can have a reasoned discussion. It may even be that decisions on which YOU disagreed met with the favor of other readers. By sharing only your conclusions, rather than your data, people have so basis from which to evaluate your opinions, and so are most like to ignore them.

I've known Judge Willis for many years, and have learned to trust his judgement implicitly. Even when we disagree (which is often), I respect his reasoning, his knowledge of the law, and his heart, and have found that he rarely comes to a decision without solid rationale (often including aspects of a case which I had not paused to consider).

He is a good man, one I am proud to call friend. If you disagree with some of his decisions, I suggest that you start by asking him why he felt the law, compassion, and reason led him to a particular ruling. He is easily reached at his office, and is always willing to help the local community come to a better understanding of how the law is written, and why.

He does not look at the best interest factor. A court of three judges agreed he did not apply the law correctly but judges always cover up for their Magistrates ?.....

Jay Willis is completely right for this job. He is a compassionate person and father, only looking out for what is right and just for this area.

Only the select few who have been in the court system know how he has done his job in the past. He may be a good dad and person but that does NOT mean anything. A majority of people in the area that have been in his court room WILL agree.

I have been in his courtroom for a civil dispute. His ruling was fair. As, i have also had friends have cases before him. Any judge in his shoes isn't going to be able to make everyone happy, especially in this area.

It happens everywhere people do not always agree with a judge's decisions. Here is another case.

Jay Willis is a VERY POOR excuse for a judge. My son had anal bruising following his father's care and it was turned over to the worthless CPS of Scioto county who did nothing. CPS did testify that my son was being medically neglected while in his father's care on multiple occassions and Willis did nothing about it. Even when CPS recommended parenting classes and supervised visits for my son's father, Willis did nothing to protect my son who later was diagnosed with a STD. My son's father has had a strong history of drug abuse and mental illness and has even been locked up against his will at least 3 times for extended stays in mental health facilities due to him being so unstable but Jay Willis doesn't take any of that into consideration either. Willis often sat on the bench with his eyes closed snoring and more often allowed Catherine Heid to type entries which benefited her client who was the one abusing our child. Willis would never grant a child support order when there was no money to care for my son nor would he hold the other parent in contempt for multiple PROVEN things. After Willis was given the seat of Judge only by default due to his partner in crime David Spears retiring under Ohio law due to his age, he again is refusing to do what is in the best interest on my son. My son is forced to get up for 5:00 a.m. exchages every morning and do as many as 3 visitation exchanges daily between his parents. I will point out as well that his father's brother and sister in law threaten to kill me and tried to run over me all in front of a police officer. His father's other brother assaulted a police officer as well. Oh and let us not forget that his father tried to have me arrested for kidnapping while taking our annual court ordered vacation time. Oh and we have to pay $80 a week to transport my son to and from school and his father during all of his dad's working hours (to another school district that is failing Ohio's state standards). We even have my son more than his father who has abused him since he was two months old and yes it is well documents and we have to pay him child support. Jay Willis is a poor excuse for a judge as well as a poor excuse for a human being. I hope that his family goes through crap like this 10 fold and his kids go through it 50 fold because that is what they all deserve! Any body who would vote for him as judge is a waste of oxygen!

Oh and my son had to ride over 2 hours to be taken to school for years under what the Scioto County Jokers rule is in the best interest of a child. So put that in your pipe and smoke it!

He is aman who has never really practiced law much at all and has no kids of his own he does make poor choices and decisions because of lack of real experience I know Jay and he is a good guy with good intentions But have you ever read rule six for child custody in Scioto county that he wrote . It is not for children it is for whoever is the residential parent. How about taking a child away from their non residential parent till they are three. No ivernight visits for them at all. If the parents can't agree. So if you are the residential parent all you have to do us refuse to agree and it takes the child away except for visits at child's residential house. Also there is too much back office crap that goes on. All I'm saying is there needs to be a change. Jays way is same old same old. Not sure Buckler will change it but I can almost guarantee Willis won't.

I might add that Buckler WILL look out for your son Beth. My nephew came to us smelling of urine and with HORRIBLE diaper rash and just filthy clothes and all and had staph repeatedly bc his mother didnt take care of him. Jerry presented a GREAT case and we were given overnights and more visits which we needed to prove the mother needed help caring for him bc she denied my brother any visitation with him

CONGRADULATIONS to the GOOD People of Scioto County. I am so Happy Willis lost. What a piece of Shit he is. He should be locked up for things he has done. I ask the county commissioners why they allowed someone that they wouldn't even hire to do a deed to make judgements that effect peoples lives. They did not answer. I guess they didn't know why. One thing Steve Rodeheiffer told me was true (maybe not much else) was that Willis was a loser So GOOD LUCK JAY choke and die
