GREAT little show tonight. No problems. Calm before the storm? Randy Hauser and Days of the New next week. Hip Hop tomorrow (Saturday night).

Gonna apply for funds for retracable dome next week for center of rear. Will make for year round venue. Wonder if the Marting Foundation would help? Betterment of city?

First month in business 5k sales

second month 30k sales

Went to the local band show on Friday, and it was awesome! First time I have ever been there, and the place was amazing. Great building, friendly staff, and great prices. The 3 bands that played all were very good. Someone has an eye for talent. I look forward to many more shows there. Great job Columbia owners!!!!!

I haven't been to any of the shows, but being I only live 2 blocks away I do have the plesaure of listening sometimes. Granted, I may not always be in the mood for what is playing, but I'm happy that Columbia is doing well. Yes, I know there are naysayers who want things to just be silent and drift off into oblivion. I'm not one of those people, nor are many of my friends that live in one of the 55+ buildings downtown. We're glad to see more friendly, polite people downtown helping bring life into an area that is sorely in need of it. Rock on, Columbia, some of us are very happy that you're in the neighborhood and helping keep it alive and vibrant for those of us that aren't dead enough to curl up our toes and hop into an old box. Cheers!

Wondering what happened last night (Saturday)? You finally get some good bands in there and shut them down early...why?

The section of the ordinance printed in the paper appears to me to pertain to ADVERTISING or PROMOTING...such as a noisy fundraiser, or loudspeakers spouting campain promises for someone seeking election, maybe even the speakers on an icecream truck ADVERTISING its arrival to the neighborhood....NOT the actual operation of any business; such as the racetrack or a music hall, or even any business that has trucks running and forlifts or loaders running around on their property with noisy exaust or back-up beepers..

Maybe I'm wrong, but unless its 24/7 noise that intrudes constantly...I think that any legal business should have the right to try to succeed.

How many of you were around town when they had those terrible bird squawk tape recording sounds to scare off the other birds? Talk about noise pollution!

What other businesses are they going to try and stop? Riverdays with their music or Tracy Park with the music over there? Parades are noisy with the bands playing. Stop that too? Someone is opening up a can of worms. Ridiculous just ridiculous.

Just taking shots at Lee Scott again. Old news. I'm not a particular fan of Scott either but I am a fan of Portsmouth and this venue provides a decent place for people to seek entertainment. The fact that it draws potential customers to the downtown area should garner support from the business community but it won't. Their only interested in seeing him fail, to hell with what is good for Portsmouth. My opinion for what it's worth.

No "THEY" benefit from such events(lining their pockets) so "THEY would never stop that stuff.

regardless who is getting money in their pockets, the people going to these events are evidently getting the enjoyment they expected. so if they want to spend their money, thats their business.

people in this town are forgetting what it is to be young. now that they are older they don't want anyone else to have a good time. sure there are some punks in town that ruin events for others so just weed them out.

portsmouth needs all the business it can get, we are dying out here people, open your eyes and heart and live again

The Columbia and places like it are EXACTLY what Portsmouth needs!!!!! This town is dying because of lack of local business... Hope they get the dome they want and can jam out til 2 am like ALL the other bars that have live bands!!!!!

LOL...same old unhappy little person. You must be one miserable little individual. Feel sorry for folks like yourself. Keep you in my prayers just the same.

My life is great and I never have to hide from my beliefs nor throw rocks under fake names. Maybe that is the difference between proud and coward?

Sorry I destoyed your family but hey...dishonesty was found and had to be removed from the city.

Thanks to so many for so much support. Gonna need it at the polls .....again.

To haters.....Just remember the screwing is not over till we both have a chance to smile.
