Treat others the way you want to be treated with love and respect but this world doesn't have that anymore do they. People are so arrogant that they don't care about the other person anymore just themselves.

sad but true....there are a lot of very selfish people in this world who seem to think that doing something nice for another person without gain would cause their internal organs to explode! A simple kind gesture such as helping an elderly person get s shopping cart from the rows of carts, or just saying a simple please or thank you takes seconds, yet most people would not even have the thought to do so, as the world revolves around them.

People seem to have this me, me, me, me complex paired with gimme gimme gimme syndrome. They go into a gas station and buy themselves a mountain dew with a small child who asks for a bug juice and then tells the child no, I dont have enough for it...then gets a pack of smokes at the counter....not only is that very rude but also sets a poor example for the child as well.

what ever happened to compassion and caring for others? is that really such an alien concept??? it's not that hard to be a nice person.

I CHALLENGE EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU to do something nice for someone today WITHOUT the expectation of ANYTHING in return!! It doesnt have to be big. help someone find something in the grocery store, buy a salvation army bell ringer standing outside in the cold a 99 cent cup of hot cocoa, hold a door open for a stranger behind you, get down on the floor and play racecars or barbies with or tickle your kid for a few minutes, walk up to your significant other, hug them and look them in the eye and say "I love you" give a compliment to a stranger...ANYTHING!!!! it's small things like this that make the world suck just a little bit less for everyone in it....

we were taught by my father that kindness and good manners cost you nothing but will take you far in this world. I've always lived by that and taught my children and now my grandchildren this. I am amazed at the way people so selfishly behave. Not just to the elderly but their own children. Our children's needs were taken care of before ours after all we brought them into this world they never ask to be born. My heart breaks for so many of these children today.

I do this all the time. I always hold the door for people even my young grandkids do it for people.I give people money if they are short a little in the store, I let people in front of me in line or let them pull out in front of me. Do unto others as you would have done unto you. I believe in that.

So true! Could explain why Obama was re elected? That entitlement attitude is killing our nation and our future generations. Had our generation set a better example, we wouldn't be in the position we're in today.
