I recently decided to start mountain biking. It seems like tons of fun, and something i could do almost any time of the year and alone if need be. I was wondering if anyone on these forums bike as well and would like to show me the ropes and direct me to any trails there are around here.

To my knowledge Shawnee has no dedicated mountain biking trails but I often bike on the forest's gravel roads and equestrian trails.

I hear ya, unfortunately there are no dedicated mountain biking trails within Scioto county to my knowledge.

I've read a little bit about one in hanging rock, i wasnt sure though. I dont want to put money into something like this and then have to drive an hour to use the bike.

I'm gathering to build skill and endurance you should begin with regular biking.

How about a four-wheeler trail? I don't know anything about mountain biking.

well the biking appealed to me because its just you and your skill, though im not saying it doesnt take skill on a quad, im just saying the simplicity is attractive to me.

I heard there was a mountain of pills in Wayne Hills and a mountain of broken dreams in Farley Square. You should check it out.

Yeah, mountain biking isn't something you just jump into. It sounds cool, and fun, but you have to have a lot of endurance built up. If I jumped on a mountain bike, right now, I'd only be good for about 4 miles, and that's only like two or three hills. So, there's no point in spending a bunch of money, until you can bicycle a good distance.

well, i play soccer and easily run around 8 miles a match almost non stop, so endurance wont be too hard for me, its the skill part ill have to develop, but i usually pick things up pretty quick, and the mountain of pills things and broken dreams, that was hilarious, lol.
