I can't believe that most schools are closed in anticipation of snow. Do they even look at radar. It's going north of us as it usually does. I think the most they should have done is delay and see if the snow does develop. What wimps.

Have had no problem getting around anywhere in town. County is probably worse but city is fine. All city schools should have been in school today.

I am amazed at the people who complain over EVERYTHING!!! Apparently you don't work since you have time to be on here ALL DAY, so stop complaining and enjoy your kids! I guarantee if they hadn't called off, you would have griped then too. They are the only ones who called a 2 hour delay to watch and wait. If you don't like it, MOVE!!!

Portsmouth got zero snow days last year. Today did not hurt them at all. If they went and there was a busing accident, I guarantee you would have complained that they shouldn't have gone to school. I get tired I people bashing Portsmouth schools. My kids are 4th or 5th generation Trojans, and they do great in school. They have been able to have time to play and socialize and even get on study island on the computer, which is educational. One day does not hurt them at all. I am thankful to have been able to hang out with them today. When they don't go to school, I don't go to work. I have a really nice boss.

1. Not complaining about a thing. City kids should have been in school. It wasn't that bad. New Boston went.
2. I don't work because I am retired. I've earned some time to myself.
3. I don't have kids in school.
4. Merely making an observation not a complaint. Don't get so upset about nothing.

I wouldn't have complained because I didn't complain in the first place. Just an observation. I don't care one way or the other if they take 1 snow day or 10. It's no difference either way to me.

New Boston already had a two hour early dismissal in their schedule today. That's why they didn't delay or close.
