My husband and I both work full time and we don't have the stuff welfare people do. To be honest I've been so mad at times I thought why not quit get free insurance food check and a discounted house from the govt then I will have money to do my hair nails smart phone tanning bed brand new car 7000 back in taxes. Boy they sure have it easy as I'm getting up at 5am to leave for work I think of them and how they are still sound asleep and will be for hours.

No I do get something called days off. Just because I don't sleep until 12 on my day off doesn't mean anything. I work 4 10 hour days. 40 hours a week.

Me too and I totally agree with you, and if u or your husband lost your job, guess what ? The welfare wouldn't be there to help you. I raise 3 kids on my own and can't get help because I have a job and a home.

I feel you. I have 3 kids and while I was on maternity leave we had no money. My husband was only working part time at Walmart. 480 bi weekly. We was scraping to put food on the table. I held out as long as I could before applying for food stamps. I was told I would be going back to work so they could not help me. Thank god for family.

Welfare is a wonderful program. HUD is great community action is awesome I love we have these options to fall back on however welfare is mad for short term and for those with serious disabilities. Those who are "disabled" but can do fun activities and drive around all day are not disabled. Those who choose not to work and do drugs and drink all day are worthless. If you loose your job or have a health condition that does not allow you to work that's one thing but living like a king and doing nothing while I bust my butt and count pennies and pray to have enough for food and bills is not right. Welfare should have to pass a drug test and back ground check and go to therapy and rehab if failed. I have to have a drug and background check for my money.

I know what u mean, I raise 3 kids by myself, single parent, I have a job and a home, they would never give me a damn penny, but they'll sure hand it right over to the lazy ass welfare bums that don't do a damn thing all day. I once tried for food stamps and they told me I make 12$ to much on the month to qualify, pretty sad that my kids and I can't even eat right and have no extra money to go out to eat or do fun family things because it takes every penny to pay the bills and put food on the table, yet these lazy asses just lay around having babies and get it all handed to them by us, the working people. And what makes it even sadder is that they don't even appriciate us, the expect us to work and support their lazy asses, pisses me off.

I dont have a problem with welfare if its used short term to get people back on their feet. Im just sick of the people that are too lazy & have no intentions of getting off of it. Im a single mother & it angers me when Im grocery shopping and see these people with carts full of junk food paying with the food stamp card. Fat & need to bathe with several cartons of pop...it's a shame!

i have yet to get anything? and a know what most of you are saying, ive never gotten stamps or any help before, but it wasnt for the lack of trying, there has been times i really needed help and was turned down for owning a truck they wanted me to sell first? that way if i got a job , i couldnt get to it? all programs have loopholes, but their are many out there that need the help.

Until this year my husband and I brought home 2000 a month. That was for all utilities house payment and food. I would try to make 150 dollars feed 5 people every two weeks. I honestly believe I could have used foodstamps and would have been very greatful to have them. While on maternity leave I didn't get but a 109 a week and my husband 450 bi weekly. Having to count change for diapers and food and worrying how my husband was going to have gas to go to work. I tried to get stamps because we were in a horrible situation and was turned down because I was going back to work. So now that you know that I struggle for every penny and every bit I put in my mouth maybe just maybe you will understand why it makes me so mad to see people I know that don't need it and could try to better their self but are to lazy. There is nothing wrong with help. It's not helping your self that is selfish. I'm sorry you are having a hard time and the system is screwed. But me not able to afford the food I want to buy that is healthy and seeing a family with 2 shopping carts loaded to the top with junk pisses me off. I never could afford to buy food like them

Oh I know, and I am one of them that needs help but sure can't get it, there are many of us that need help, but people used and abused the system so much that people like us can't get help when we need it, the freeloader have ruined it for us, I own a home and a car, takes everything I got to make ends meet, scary feeling to worry that I might not b able to pay those bills, and feed my kids. The welfare system is for the worthless people that will not work and have no intentions on ever bettering themselves, it's not for people that need help, it's for people that want to lay around on their lazy asses and wait for a check and food stamps all for doing nothing while we work our asses off to support them all, hell I can't even go to the doctor when I get sick cause I have no insurance cause I can't afford it, but yet they get free health care and can go any time they want, then Obama care is gonna make us pay for insurance even tho we cant afford it and if we don't pay it he's gonna take it out of our tax returns. But these bastards get it all handed to them for free by us. It's all bull shit and I'm sick of it, hell they even get a cell phone, for what? To call who? They don't have a job, so why do they need a phone?

It is helpful when u truely need it .but is abused. My biggest issue with it ,is 12 percent of my check goes to job and family services. And 23 percent goes to bwc. Why is it working ppls responsability to provide this ? U should only be allowed to draw what you have paid into the system I think. My own family should come first with my income. Not force me to take care of others needs. Just saying!
