The men are fine, but I absolutely refuse to let Dr. Sherman touch by baby. She gets a certain injection twice a year, and Dr. Sherman gave her the wrong injection even after I stopped her to ask if she was positive that it was the correct one as I was sure that it wasn't.. but she assured me that it was. After we got home, it'd been about a week or so after and we weren't seeing the effects that we normally do after she gets her shot, so next time I was in there I asked Dr. Wilcox about it, and he said that it was the wrong one and that vaccines are pink and that her shot should always be clear. So Im convinced that the woman has no clue what she's doing or doesn't care about my pet near as much as I expect. Dr. Wilcox even got out her file and couldn't figure out what she was given, as in it wasn't documented.
Jill Salisbury is the woman vet at Scioto Trail, not Dr. Sherman. My pet was horribly misdiagnosed at Scioto Trail and Shawnee saved his life. I take all my pets to Shawnee now and absolutely love them.

They recently killed my fiance's cat. The cat was 15 so it was not in the best of health. When she came back from getting shaved for hairballs she was almost nonresponsive. When my fiance's father took the cat back in, the vets were looking at the computer several times and were acting suspicious. It turns out that they had over-sedated her and it caused something internal to shut down becaus she died two days later.
it was old. So buy a new one. Its just a cat

National Spay Day is February 28. Scioto Trail Animal Clinic has offered discount coupons that can be purchased on this day only and are good for one year. Scioto Trail has done this for many years except for a brief period....Dr. Karr still worked there at this time and refused to do spay day because he didn't make enough money off these surgeries.

Just curious...what was supposed to be given and what actually was given? the only pink injectables used routinely are vaccines and euthanasia solution.

Actually that depends on where you work.. I've seen a lot of euthanasia solution be blue, not pink. Just depends on the practice. Also you cannot dis a practice because of them misdiagnosing your pet, multiple people do not have the funds for all of the "proper" or "the most efficient testing. Many people want a vet to just look at their pet and know what's wrong, well that isn't going to happen. Diagnostics is needed for proper diagnosing. And with the cat, any cat or pet at all for that matter at the age of 15 is at risk for a bad reaction to anesthesia. Like someone had mentioned before even the trip to the vet for a geriatric pet causes a lot of stress. A reaction to that does not deem the doctors bad. Everyone has good and bad experiences at different places, like for example a vet saying your pet is overweight, that is not a bad doctor, that is the owner taking what was said the wrong way. Many owners like to think they know more than the vet does. And when they don't like what the vet says, they go to another clinic and bash the name of the previous one. Scioto trail doesn't suit some people, same with SAC, but just because you didn't have a great experience there doesn't give anyone the right to talk negatively about the practice as a whole. Think before you speak, people. Know the whole facts before you start something, don't assume that someone did something wrong before you know that to be 100% true.

Which clinic? Shawnee works on all type animals I believe. From exotics, to companion animal, to large and farm animal. They will not euthanize a healthy pet. But if the sheep is ill, they will. They also offer cremation + return, and the ashes of the pet can be returned within a couple days. Very compassionate workers and doctors there.

Let me rephrase that, they will euthanize a sheep if it is ill/hurt, no hope of saving. They have always recommended trying to treat a pets problems, before resulting to euthanasia. Love them!
