Here lets shut down all the pill mills & then open a needle exchange program so that way when heroin hits good ol ptown they'll have somewhere to get their "free" needles to shoot up heroin!! There is way more heroin in Scioto county than there ever were pills!! Just read the Portsmouth Daily times & you can see how many drug busts of heroin dealers there are!! Way to go Scioto county & Solace!! Glad you were looking out for the non druggies!! I thought you were trying to make our county safer, not dumber!! You can thank the exchange program for creating more drug addicts by passing out their "free needles"!!

heroin has been in portsmouth for years... You dont really think all these druggies were created by pills do you? No, those types were looking for a buzz before the pain clinics, the clinics only created more addicts.... Not all of portsmouth is on drugs... But all the ones who are need to be given a bad batch of that stuff and wiped out completely!!!

It's funny I never heard of heroin in our town until the pill mills got shut down & if you don't think the drs writing those mass amounts of prescriptions had anything to do with creating more addicts, then your crazy!!

well, i know at least 4 ppl who have dies from heroin before the pill mills started, and i said they created more addicts.. But heroin were already here, years ago! You can get any type of drug you want anywhere these days... And i have seen ppl strung out on crack, come, meth, heroin plus a bunch of other drugs all my life here... Oxys were just the newest thing and the pill mills made it easier to get high... Thats all it is... If someone wants a buzz, believe me they will find it.... Those drs are to blame for the pills, the rest was already here!!!!

I've had a couple friends die at the hands of a so called dr also! But, 2 of them were majorly hurt at a job & went to a dr for some help from the pain. Even had multiple surgeries but only for the dr to say we've tried everything they could but here's ya some pills that will help & they were in no way shape or form drug addicts before they got hurt but soon after the dr kept writing mass amounts of pills, they became drug addicts & lost their lives & now their life consist of chasing after heroin cause there is no more pills! Look, all I'm saying is they could of came up with more preventive help after shutting down the pill mills instead of opening a needle exchange program. That's like saying here ya go its ok to stick a needle in your arm! None of it is ok!! Why not open a rehab center to help these people instead of opening something to help to problem get worse??

Dumbass look around. There are already rehab programs here. They are everywhere. The only thing the needle exchange program does is keep the hepatitis infected needles from laying all over town sticking innocent people and children. The citizens were complaining and kids were getting stuck on playgrounds! Garbage workers and cops doing searches also getting stuck. The people in the program get needles so they dont infect more people with deadly diseases and dont leave dirty needles all over the place. Also get linked up to rehab services.

Dumbass look around, do you know how much those rehabs cost???? Most want 2-5 grand just to walk in the door or there are a waiting list of a year or 2 yrs to get in!!! It still doesn't fix the problem of saying its ok to stick needles in your arms!! Here's ya some free needles now go shot up but make sure you bring back the infected needless! Yea right! I'm sure they jump right on that!!!

Im a recovering addict & I understand the needle exchange program. When I was active in my addiction I would use my needles over & over because they were hard to obtain. A junkie will do whatever they can to get their fix & with this program they have to bring in their used needle to exchange for a new one. That keeps the addicts from just leaving them all over the place & keeps down disease.

That was their plan the whole time! Step One-Allow the pill mills to operate long enough to get half the town addicted and make a load of fast cash in the process. Step Two-Close down said pill mills and flood the town heroin so everyone stays addicted, rake in some more money then sit back and watch the addicts drop like flies from heroin overdoses because unlike pills the strength is not regulated. Continue the cycle of oppression with racket's like the Counseling Center so the state pours more money in the human landfill that is Scioto County.

The mayor had to sign a permit for the pain clinics to come in, and a simple Google search of the doctors, would have laid a good foundation for suspecting that the same type of practice would occur here.

Those good, moral, building owners that just didn't know...right. And our poor, ignorant, and blind leaders who just couldn't see it either...right.

They made money from the taxes on the places, the police made money from the confiscation of things (buildings, cars, homes), judges made money from the cases, rehab centers and other medical facilities make a small fortune, and the pharmacies made money. Everyone won, except for the newly addicted, and the tax payer (us).

Now all of these people can begin to appear more important around here though. And to think, it was as simple as allowing the start-up of a little immoral business, with just a few signatures, and then changing the law to make it illegal, with just a few more signatures. They've made money both ways. Caught, coming and going.
