PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (WSAZ)-- Police in Portsmouth have shut down two drug trafficking operations; taking thousands of dollars of drugs off the streets.

Sunday, Portsmouth Police and the Ohio Department of Liquor Control went to the Royal Inn to serve a search warrant. They found Joe Davis, who's from Hernando, Mississippi.

They also found 6 grams of powdered cocaine, scales, and $1,240 in cash.

Police say they later tracked down Davis' alleged accomplice at a house on 8th Street in Portsmouth. Vincent Bell of Nesbit, Mississippi was in the home with 13 grams of crack cocaine and $668 in cash.

When police questioned Bell, they found that he had a storage unit in Wheelersburg. When they searched it, police found only a plastic tote. Inside the container was 337 grams of powdered cocaine, three grams of crack cocaine,$3,440 in cash and other drug paraphernalia.

In all, police say the drugs that Davis and Bell had have a street value of more than $42,000.

Vincent Bell is 38-years-old and has been charged with several counts of cocaine trafficking and possession.

Joe Davis is 40-years-old cocaine trafficking and possession and possession of criminal tools.

On Friday, Portsmouth police made another drug raid that pulled 31 grams of crack cocaine, 22 doses of heroin, digital scales, a loaded gun, and a 2-year-old boy were found in an apartment in Portsmouth Friday.

Four people were arrested after complaints of drug trafficking and an undercover purchase of heroin from the Robinson Avenue apartment, according to the Portsmouth Police Department.

According to police, the street value of the crack found totalled $15,500 and the value of the heroin was $700.

Anthony Jones, 27, Carlos Jones, 29, Patricia Tsotsos, 23, and Sharay Martin, 30, were arrested.

Police say Carlos and Anthony Jones are believed to be from the Dayton and Troy areas of Ohio. Tsotsos and Martin are from Portsmouth.

All were charged with two counts of trafficking and possession. Tsotsos was also charged with endangerment of her 2-year-old son.

The Scioto County Children's Services were called to take care of the child.

Woot! This is GREAT! I'd like to see a bust in the paper every damn day. THEN we will KNOW that they're cracking down! The hard drugs in the area are devastating. Whatever happened to just having a few beers and MAYBE smoking a joint? Joints are harmless ya know?

OOoohhh. Who's gonna disagree with me on this one? lol. I hate pills, coke, herion. all of that garbage, they have ruined so many lives. But dammit! Marijuana is NOT a hard drug!

I dont wish prison on anyone especially when they are dishing out long ass prison terms for dealing and no time or short short time for taking a persons life!!! wake up!!! You wont understand this until a family member of yours is taken away from u and you still see the killer walking the streets and still selling pills and stuff!! The PPD is the biggest joke I myself has ever seen.

Portsmouth Ohio used to be a great place to raise your kids and let them enjoy life but now....HELL NAW!!! everyone is sitting here praising the job of the narcotics team and PPD because they keep arresting dealers and users instead they need to be prosecuting doctors and pharmacies to keep the prescription drugs off the streets...If the drugs were not so easy to obtain it make things a lot different and safer. And how about receiving 8 yrs. for fatally killing someone and getting 20 years for possessing crack....in what mind does that make sense? hopefully no ones!!

I have never before in my life seen a place where you do better off killing someone then carrying a bag a weed in your pocket. Everyones sitting here praising the PPD and timberlake and his boys for "a job well done" for taking down dealers and users but for some reason killers and perverts are left to roam the streets and continue on their sorry lives still selling pills getting high and B&E.Do you know what it feels like to lose the love of your life, father of your children at the hands of a west side pill selling crack smoking delinquent..ANTHONY COOPER JR? over oxy 80's and to know that he is walking the streets still doing the same nothing he has always done? KUHN is worthless and so is the whole prosecuters office.....Do some real work make these streets safer for real arrest killers and dealers not just dealers. Put a smile on my kids faces...arrest their fathers killer....arrest Anthony Cooper jr make him pay for his crimes...arrest Clifton millers killer. Dwayne Edwards and Lefty's life DOES mean something to alot of people and they deserve to lay in peace knowing their killers have been served a huge dose of justice.

Usually people that take a life are on drugs so I do believe getting druggies and dealers off the street would help in that matter as well. Can you not see that drugs are a huge issue around here?

People that take lifes also get there time... Why take up for druggies and drug dealers??? Only thing I can gather is that you may be on yourself? So are you saying drug dealers dont deserve punished and its the right thing to do? um no hon U got it wrong and anytime the PPD gets a druggy or a drug dealer off the street they are accomplishing ALOT!!!! And another thing that is pretty pathetic is they had a 2 year old right around that stuff!
