I was once a very active member there and was treated very good as long as you don't go against the crowd and do anything they say. The pastor is a dictator to say the least he likes to rule everything and everyone and will even tell you how to run your life and who you should be friends with. He is never on time and not friendly with the people at all. If this church had a new pastor and new leadership that would stand up for themselves and not bow to everything that Gowdy says it has the potential to be a great church.(once the cliques are gone)

Lol this is just laughable! I also had close family who attended all of the choir dinners and never was a word said about a problem with an older gentleman. As far as cliques go,they are everywhere! You go to church to worship and learn. Not to slander your fellow people.
The older gentleman was just a sweet old guy...and he wasn't a problem...the other choir folks didn't care for him because he wasn't as well dressed and living in as nice of an area as they did. I know. I was there too that night.

I believe more than a third of the entire gospel narratives in the New Testament are taken up with Jesus' personal struggle against a religious community dedicated to the practices and ideals of the Pharisees and scribes.
Self-centered Gowdy, along with his special deacons, are possessed by the same spirit as the Pharisees and scribes. This allows Gowdy to stay until he decides to retire, ignoring the Holy Spirit. He is a typical only child and must have his way, serving self and friends.
Moreover, The congregation thinks wrong doing is ok since they are hyper-Calvinistic and anything that happens, no matter how bad, is the will of God in their eyes. If Jesus came and interfered, they would crucify him like the Pharisees and scribes had the Jews crucify Jesus. Many good and righteous people in the church were proudly, but wrongly, belittled and tormented for the sake of the self-centered!
