A Scioto County Citizen

Marion, OH

#1 Jul 4, 2010
The Community Common (CC) edition for Today 7-4-10 has a Trilogy of articles on their front page on the Municipal world in Scioto County, Ohio. Only the first one on The County's fiscal emergency is available electronically that's what this one can figure out.

So this one of the three non-underground newspapers in Ptown, are non available electronically to the 20th. Century, part of the third world country in Scioto County, SE Ohio. The articles are.

A. County Officials Optimistic About Financial Future.(this one continues to be a hoot.)
B. Officials (Der Judges calling die leaders together) Discuss City Building,(It's the City Hall you need an interpreter to cipher this stuff).
C. Flood Defense Levy to be on Ballot; Charter Amendment being proposed.

I will reflect on the 3rd. one, a new sucking sound for Ptown, and do postings on the other two on the existing threads.

C. Flood Defense Levy to be on Ballot; Charter Amendment being proposed.

1. By the title can you hear that sucking sound tax payers? The run away city council first talked about increasing the city income tax. They then tried to raid the CIP fund, and or the Water and Sewer fund, and still are?, and now they are attacking the “Flood Defense Levy” a vital operation, during floods.???

2. It’s a "renewable levy," which probably means you vote once forever and it's in until the end of time and they renew it? Or perhaps they have to re-vote it in each time? The article does not say for the uninformed reader?

3. Then this article is mazed up with talk about residency requirements for City Council candidates, Keystone Kops. First reading of an ordinance for that?

4. Oh, I hope "our" watchdawgs are on all this? Electronically I only see article on this Community Common web page a free paper, remember the "free press?"

5. Oh, this is good research by the Community Common,“The floodwall and levee will protect the city to a river level of 72 feet, according to the Wastewater Directors duties on www.portsmouthoh.org .” Far out man……. Good job CC.

Voters and taxpayers can you hear that sucking sound, Recall Mayor Murray, Raise the flood levy to increase the couffers, confuse us with the residency issue, and them some stuff about asking the County Auditor something about which I would think is the City Auditor's job?

Did you know that Ptwon has an elected City Auditor and an Elected City Solicitor but the City Council henchmen Haas, and Basham are doing all their work? You have to be there, hah.
