The Portsmouth FIRE DEPT. robs the city blind with all the overtime they get !! Each of them get on average 20 hours overtime per pay !! The CITY COUNCIL should cut ALL their overtime and MAKE them work 8 hour shifts !! This alone would save the city a TON OF MONEY !! If they would work 8 hour shifts their would allways be fireman on duty and ther wouldn't be such a OVERWHELMING OVERTIME EXPENCE !!! The FIRE DEPT. is sucking this city dry !!! These guys are playing the city like a harp !!

They work the system by using their sicktime to call off and others get even more overtime. They take turns doing this to load each others pockets while cheating the city out of money. No wonder the city stays broke and is in the shape it's in. CITY OFFICIALS need to wake up and do something about this ASAP ! I agree that they should have to work three 8 hour shifts and that it would save the city a fortune !

The next time you're in a fire, you'll be glad we're here, working overtime! You guys want to complain about how we EARN our money, while you sit on your butt, getting drunk or whatever, dropping your cigarette, starting a fire, and then calling us to SAVE you! You guys need to get a LIFE! It's welfare bums like you, that are dragging our city down, not working folks like us!

Tell us why it is that you guys don't work 8 hour shifts ! Theirs no reason why the Fire Dept can't work three 8 hour shifts a day !! That would eliminate allmost all the overtime cost that the City pays you guys for doing absolutly NOTHING 80% of the day !

Go ahead and tell the public how the Fire Dept gets all this UNNECESSARY OVERTIME paid to them EVERY PAYDAY ! Tell the public how you all take turns calling off work to line your pockets with even more overtime when someone has to fill your spot. You all take turns doing that so that you each will get even more UNNECESSARY OVERTIME. Bunch of liars and theifs !
