Who do you want running the city.

These are your 2 choices. If you vote to recall Murray, then Malone becomes mayor. Is he really better?
Itís your call Portsmouth, but I would prefer to keep the educated mayor with government experience over the council president, whose claim to fame is starting his own church.

lets here what you think voters of Portsmouth
not putting up with it

I have lived in the 2nd ward almost 10 years now....if malone winds up mayor.....I'm moving...he's nothing but a self centered piece of lying trash who care more about his pocketbook than his ward....give him the city?!?!?! HUGE mistake

We're going to have a recall election in Nov to determine just that, or hadn't you noticed?

But you can beat your chest in here till then if it makes you happy.

I'd rather have David Malone over the "educated fool" Jane Murray any day.

i think people should stick with the mayor and join her fight cause it isnt just her fight its all the peoples fight in porstmouth to better that town, for the first time that i can remember you have a mayor that isnt a puppet or a good ole boy,, you have a woman who may be a little raw but with experience that can turn to maturity,, i say support her and break away from the past cause it has only helped a few and the unions .and you guys end up complaining about the same old shit year after year and now that the chance is here to change that town ,, you all cowardly turn against her,, i say for once be strong and support her and even if she isnt the answer well then atleast she got the lock off the door ,, now open it and go forward.. take this oppurtunity why you have it,, may be your last chance to get fresh ideas and modern change,, and when i hear a few names of the people that are on city council i can see why that town is still a wreck, not a one is worthy,,, went to school with one and he was stupid then , im sure he still is today.

We voted for Murray, not Malone. Come on, give her a chance. We do not want another mayor. We want her. If we had wanted someone else, we would have voted for someone else. She is not one of the good ole boys, so they want her out;I am sick of the good ole boys, how can we get rid of them?

Whichever council person you claim to have gone to school with, apparently he's still here doing SOMEthing for Portsmouth, even if some asshats don't like it.

How far are you throwing those rocks from where YOU moved to?

I think if they recall the mayer again it makes portsmouth the city of shame a mayer can only be a good one if the people that work for the city help him or her make the city a better place to live. I think the voters better vote them all out because what i see is they dont give a shit about portsmouth just thier pockets.

I was not refering to the mayer being voted out just the others that dont want to work with her to make portsmouth move again and put portsmouth back on the map as a good place to live again for sakes people we are a river city there should be all kinds of industries here this town has been drying up for thirty years we have lost thousands of citizens and our children will have to leave or allready have left to find work elsewhere and there is to many people on public assitance or ssi here and way to many pill heads. All these people that want to keep recalling mayors dont want change they want all the federal money poring in here and to keep lineing thier pockets with what little tax payers money we have left. Wake up put our river our railroad and highways back to work for industry people before its to late.

You don't live HERE, you don't pay taxes HERE. You make no personal contributions to THIS community. Damn straight I have something to lose. YOU don't.

I could give a shit less who you think I should have to put up with as mayor.

Really, Now what could that be? What could you lose?

Money, prestige what oh what would make you use that kind of language?? If you are any indication of the type of person who wants to recall Mayor Jane Murray then I am glad that I refused to sign the petition.

the fact that "private" went to school with one of our council members most likely means he grew up here...so most likely still has family and friends who are stuck in this forsaken bit of land...but i guess we're not supposed to worry about friends and family...as long as it's about "you, you, you" or "me, me, me" that's all that matters...that kind of thinking is what put this place in the shape it's in...and it's very sad...when a small town grows into a big city, it loses it's sense of community...now that we're falling back into a small town, no one has a clue what to do...no one cares about "community" anymore.

thanks smokes, you are correct in your statement,,i think that people control their own destiny and when it comes to a community you can be part of the solution if you choose or part of the problem its peoples choice of what side of the fence they stand on. i think in portsmouth people need to stand together for change,,, some people hate change cause they cant adapt and they are the ones who choose to stop progress cause they fear the unknown,, but change is good for portsmouth and long over due,

Yes choose wisely becuase here are your options the good ole boys who are out for their selves or the good ole girl who is our for her self hmmmmmmmm not much choice is there anyway you look at it portsmouth is hit. But then again no one else but the good ole girl is taken credit for stuff that was started way before she got into office. Hmmmmmmmm is she so sure she is leaving is that why she has not handed in her 2011 budget for the city (dead line nov 15th) Or is it so outlandish she wants this recall first so if she happens to squeak by and stay in office she can hand it in and the people of portsmouth cant do one darn thing about it. Sure glad I moved when I did. Just hope my families can keep jobs so they can live there. I really think its time to put the whole lot out of office and vote in new ones the whole clan needs gone.
